On June 24, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police announced that it had just issued a decision to search for Tran Minh Hung (35 years old, residing in Long Kien Commune, Cho Moi District, An Giang) to serve the request to check and verify information about the crime of fraud and property appropriation.

Tran Minh Hung is a credit officer at a bank in An Giang and often prepares loan maturity documents for many customers.

When the bank's due date came, many customers did not have money so they borrowed from Hung. Then Hung borrowed from many other people to get money to lend to customers to earn interest.

Hung borrowed money from relatives and friends from 100 million VND to more than 1 billion VND.

Between mid-January 2024 and February 5, 2024, Hung contacted Nguyen Phuoc T. to borrow 550 million VND, Le Thi Th. to borrow 1.79 billion VND and Tran Minh T. to borrow 1.3 billion VND. Hung promised to pay back the money within 1 to 7 days as soon as his customers received the loan disbursement.

When the debt payment deadline came, the victims could not contact Hung. When they went to his house to find him, they learned that Hung had left home and it was unknown where he went, so they filed a complaint with the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police.

An Giang Provincial Police informs and requests agencies and units to coordinate in verifying and searching.
