Then, coach Shin Tae Yong's Indonesia faced the Vietnamese team in the two semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2022. In the first leg at home, the team from the archipelago drew 0-0. Since the beginning of the tournament, Garuda (the nickname of the Indonesian team) has had to compete with a density of 3 days/match. In addition, they also have to travel nearly 16,000km between competition venues. Sharing after the match with Myanmar, coach Shin Tae Yong admitted: "The schedule at the AFF Cup is too tight. The teams only have 3 days to prepare for the match. This greatly affects the players' physical strength. Normally, they have at least 4 days off between each match. Not to mention we lost a whole day of travel. In fact, after the match against Myanmar, it took us 16 hours to travel back to Indonesia because we had to transit in Malaysia. Therefore, I have to calculate so that the players do not get injured when going through such a tight schedule". The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).
