This morning, 2 days before the God of Wealth's day (the 10th day of the first lunar month), many people went to gold and silver shops in Hanoi to buy gold for good luck on the first day of the new year.

At a gold and jewelry business on Cau Giay Street (Cau Giay District, Hanoi), the parking lot of this business was packed with customers' vehicles coming to buy gold. In fact, the number of vehicles was so large that many customers had no more parking space and had to park their vehicles in the building next door.

Inside, the rows of waiting seats for customers were full. According to the staff here, since yesterday, the number of customers coming to buy gold has been very crowded, on February 4 alone, an estimated 300-350 customers. Today, by 9am, the seats were full.

Despite the high price of gold, many people still go to gold and silver shops to buy gold at the beginning of the new year.

At the opening of the trading session on February 5, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by large enterprises at VND88-91 million/tael (buy - sell), an increase of VND400,000 for buying and VND900,000 for selling compared to the closing price of yesterday's session. The difference between the two buying and selling prices was VND3 million/tael.

The checkout area was also crowded with customers waiting in line.

Domestic gold prices have increased rapidly and strongly as the God of Wealth Day approaches. The gold price increase before this holiday is a familiar scenario in the gold market.

At the beginning of the new year, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai (Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi) came to the gold shop in Cau Giay from 9am waiting for his turn to buy gold. Mr. Hai said that he planned to buy 5 taels of plain round gold rings for luck and this was also a way for him to accumulate assets, the cost was about more than 45 million VND.

The price of plain round gold rings this morning set a new record, listed at 88-90.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 400,000 VND for buying and 900,000 VND for selling compared to the closing price yesterday.

Ms. Viet Phuong (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) has been queuing up since 9am to buy gold before the God of Wealth Day. Ms. Phuong said: "I came here yesterday afternoon but it was too crowded so I couldn't buy anything. I came here this morning at 9am but now at 12pm I still haven't been able to buy any gold because the queue is too crowded and it's not my turn yet."

"The price of gold is so high this year. Yesterday it was one price and this morning it has increased to a new price. Instead of choosing to save money, I keep the habit of buying gold to store. This year I plan to buy 3 taels of plain round gold rings," Ms. Phuong continued.

In addition to buying 5 taels of plain round gold rings, Mr. Xuan Bach (Tay Ho district) also chose some gold jewelry products with the 2025 snake mascot for luck in the new year.

As every year, gold products symbolizing the new year according to each zodiac animal are launched by gold businesses to serve customer needs.

Recorded on Tran Nhan Tong street (Hai Ba Trung district), the street is known for many gold, silver and gemstone businesses, today is quite crowded and bustling before the God of Wealth's day.

However, the large number of customers is only concentrated in a few famous businesses. Customers line up long to wait their turn to buy gold, and inside, the staff is also busy serving customers.
