Provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region bring special agricultural and processed products to An Giang to promote and connect.

30 enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Vinh Long brought more than 100 agricultural products and the most unique processed products to the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 in An Giang to promote, introduce, and connect.

On the morning of December 17, at An Giang University, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province, the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 opened, with the theme: "Promoting economic, trade and technological cooperation in the Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country, towards sustainable development in the new competitive context".

Mekong Connect Forum 2024 is chaired by leaders of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City, Ministry of Science and Technology and many related units. This is the first time An Giang has hosted this Forum.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee informed: Mekong Connect was first held in 2015 and has become a prestigious annual forum, a solid bridge between the Mekong Delta provinces with Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

The forum originated from the ABCD Mekong regional connectivity initiative (An Giang – Ben Tre – Can Tho – Dong Thap), followed by Ho Chi Minh City and this year with the participation of the provinces: Vinh Long, Hau Giang. Mekong Connect is not only a place to gather ideas and initiatives, but also a space for localities, businesses, experts and policy makers to discuss and propose practical solutions to promote sustainable development for the entire region.

The Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee hopes that through this year's Mekong Connect Forum, it will be an opportunity to exploit the local potential of each locality, strengthen connectivity, and expand practical cooperation between An Giang province and Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. At the same time, it will create favorable conditions for the formation of value chain linkages, grasp market trends, orient agricultural products, apply technology to connect, increase added value, promote commercialization of agricultural products and enhance market integration; connect tourist tours, promote economic development of the Vietnam - Cambodia border trade.

With the theme "Mekong Connect 2024 - Forum to promote economic, trade and technological cooperation in the Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country towards sustainable development in the new competitive context", the Mekong Connect 2024 forum takes place from December 17 - 18, 2024.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, Mekong Connect will host a series of activities such as: International Green Startup Festival; Livestream sales session with the theme "Promoting sustainable trade based on local resources" for agricultural products of the Mekong Delta provinces and the most unique processed products of the regions; organizing a workshop on "Developing local resources and local economy through regional linkages in the new competitive context".
