This is an archaeological relic of the burial civilization of our ancestors with unique values in culture, history, architecture, especially spiritual culture.

In the south of A Man mountain (in Quang Duc village, An Thach commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province), there have long existed 500 ancient tombs containing many mysteries.

The 500 ancient tombs have four forms: saddle-shaped, tortoise-shaped, roof-shaped, and lotus-shaped. Of these, the saddle-shaped is the majority. The 500 ancient tombs have four forms but all have different shapes, no tomb is the same, the size of each tomb depends on the social position of the person buried in the tomb during his lifetime.

All the graves are oriented to the West and Northwest (mountain top), and the graves are oriented to the East and Southeast (mountain foot). On the pillars of many graves, there are some traces of Chinese characters carved, but most of the characters are eroded and unrecognizable.

All the tombstones were either chiseled or not made, so that future generations would not know the names of those buried. In addition to the deep carving technique on the sandstone, the system of decorative motifs on the ancient tombstones created a distinctive mark of the Nguyen Lords, showing the strong influence of Buddhist philosophy. However, it still bears the mark of pure Vietnamese culture from folk feng shui in burial, to decorative patterns, arrangement methods, and tomb construction methods.

Although there are many hypotheses that the people buried under the 500 ancient tombs belong to Lord Nguyen Anh's forces, there are still no reliable arguments. To explain the mysteries of the 500 ancient tombs, archaeology is needed to clarify everything.

According to Dan Viet Newspaper, this is an archaeological site of the burial civilization of our ancestors with unique cultural, historical, architectural, and especially spiritual values. These 500 ancient tombs are located behind Chau Lam Pagoda, adjacent to the stele of monk Lieu Quan (1667-1742), a high monk from Quang Duc village who founded the Zen Buddhist sect in Dang Trong (from Quang Binh onwards) in the 18th century.

Currently, preserving, embellishing and restoring the largest ancient tomb in the country on A Man mountain is one of the sacred and practical tasks to preserve important memories of Phu Yen's historical process.
