Explosion of creativity with a strong artistic imprint

(CLO) After 9 exciting days (from November 1-9), the 2024 Hanoi Open Theatre Festival, which gathered 12 theaters and 12 outstanding plays, ended with resounding success.

On the evening of November 9, the 2024 Hanoi Open Theatre Festival closed. The Organizing Committee awarded a total of 30 Gold Medals and 39 Silver Medals, of which the play Khong Trong by Hanoi Drama Theater, directed by People's Artist Trung Hieu, won the Gold Medal for the play.

Theater representatives received Gold medals for the plays.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized that each play at the festival had been seriously invested in, elaborately staged, full of creativity and high artistic quality. These theatrical stories not only brought the audience back to the glorious past but also aroused patriotism and national pride.

The plays recreated history through the lens of art, creating deep emotions for the capital's audience.

The Chairman of the Jury, writer Ha Dinh Can, also shared his joy at the development of the stage. The passionate love for the profession of the artists, especially the innovation of the younger generation, has helped the stage become more attractive and closer to the audience. However, the festival still lacks a Hanoi associated with Trinh Cong Son's music or the ancient beauty of the capital in the literature of Nguyen Tuan, Nguyen Huy Tuong, Nguyen Dinh Thi...

The festival honored three Gold Medals for the best plays, including General Vo Nguyen Giap (Army Cheo Theatre), Khong Trong (Hanoi Drama Theatre) and Hoang De Co Lau (Thang Long Puppet Theatre).

In addition, four Silver Medals went to the plays Ho Xuan Huong (Hai Phong Cheo Troupe), Thieu Phu Nam Xuong (Vietnam Tuong Theatre), Nguoi Hat A Dao (Hanoi Cheo Theatre) and Ly Thuong Kiet (Hanoi Cai Luong Theatre).

In particular, the play Khong Trong , a new version of the famous work released in 1997 with the participation of many veteran artists, was performed by Hanoi Drama Theater with creative innovation from director People's Artist Trung Hieu.

The actors were awarded Gold medals.

The work won a total of six medals and one outstanding individual award, including four Gold Medals and two Silver Medals, as well as the Best Screenplay Award.

With a series of awards presented to actors, directors, scriptwriters and many other artists, the 2024 Hanoi Open Theatre Festival not only honors artistic talent but also contributes to rekindling the strong vitality of Vietnamese theatre in the hearts of the public.
