The event takes place from August 29 to September 1, 2024 at Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi.

With activities such as the Exhibition “Colors of ASEAN Culture”; and the Cultural Exchange “Colors of ASEAN”, the event promises to be a colorful cultural feast, attracting the attention of many people in the capital and international visitors.

Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, said that the "ASEAN Colors" event is a meaningful activity, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam in general and the capital Hanoi in particular to international friends. This is also an opportunity to honor and spread the spirit of solidarity and friendship among ASEAN countries.

Sharing specifically about the program, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong said that the highlight is the extremely rich and impressive experience space, including: 57 creative booths of Vietnam and ASEAN, souvenirs for young people and families, traditional products of countries on consumption and fashion; 70 "Street Flavor" booths simulating the old streets, arranging cyclos, jingling trains, flower-carrying bicycles, food booths for the Hanoi draft beer festival, beer from other countries, coffee, tea, fruit juice drinks and food stalls serving tourists; 79 "Village Flavor" booths with content on cultural diplomacy, economic exchange and regional agricultural products...

At the event, artists will paint on silk a record-breaking work set to contemporary music. The work will be given to the Organizing Committee or divided into 11 small pieces to be given to ASEAN embassies or auctioned on the spot.

In addition, the opening program will take place on the evening of August 29, starting with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the "ASEAN Cultural Colors" Exhibition, followed by a cultural exchange program.

There are also many special activities such as: Silk calligraphy performance, drawing contest for children, and night tour in Thang Long Imperial Citadel...

According to the program's Organizing Committee, with its large scale and rich content, the "ASEAN Colors" Cultural Friendship Festival not only contributes to promoting cultural exchanges between countries in the region, but is also an opportunity for Hanoi to affirm its role as a cultural center of the country and the region. The event promises to be an unmissable destination for Hanoians and tourists in late August and early September this year.

This is also an opportunity for ASEAN countries and businesses in the bloc to introduce handicrafts and traditional products to exchange, learn and cooperate for mutual development.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam Latana Siharaj said that during the year that the country assumed the role of rotating ASEAN Chair, the Lao Embassy in Vietnam coordinated to organize many meaningful activities to promote solidarity and friendship within ASEAN.

In recent times, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanoi City in general, and the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in particular have created conditions for the Lao Embassy to participate in many people-to-people diplomacy activities, cultural exchanges, and especially the upcoming ASEAN Colors.

The Deputy Ambassador also expressed confidence in the success of the event, affirming that this is a meaningful initiative that will contribute to promoting and fostering solidarity and cohesion among ASEAN countries as well as with other countries in the world.
