The working trip of General Secretary and President To Lam aims to reaffirm the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness and active, comprehensive and extensive international integration.
At the same time, it also shows the high regard of the Party and State of Vietnam for the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia, the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Ireland, and the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.

From September 30 to October 1, 2024, at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his wife, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam paid a State visit to Mongolia to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia. During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam held talks with President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, met with Speaker of the National Assembly Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan and Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene; and witnessed the signing of documents between Vietnamese and Mongolian agencies.
The two countries' senior leaders highly appreciated the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia which has been strongly expanded over the past 70 years; exchanged in-depth opinions on the direction of bilateral relations development in the coming time and regional and international issues of mutual concern.

General Secretary and President To Lam visits the Vietnamese Embassy and Ho Chi Minh Inter-level School No. 14 in Mongolia
In addition to the official programs, General Secretary and President To Lam and the delegation visited and met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia; visited the Ho Chi Minh Inter-level School No. 14; received a number of typical Mongolian business organizations; and attended the Vietnam Cultural Day program in Mongolia.
Speaking at the meeting with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam asked the Embassy to continue to fulfill its responsibility of protecting citizens; develop trade relations and exchanges in various fields of cooperation.
