Add subjects paying for forest environmental services

The above subjects make entrusted payments through the Provincial Forest and Environment Protection Fund at 1% of total revenue realized during the period.

From 2025, aquaculture facilities will be included in the list of subjects paying for forest environmental services in the province.

Thus, organizations and individuals doing business in ecotourism, resorts and entertainment services must pay for services to protect and maintain the beauty of natural landscapes and conserve biodiversity of forest ecosystems; aquaculture facilities must pay for services to provide spawning grounds, food sources, natural breeds, water sources and environmental factors and forest ecosystems for aquaculture.

To effectively implement the policy of payment for forest environmental services, the Provincial Forest and Environment Protection Fund has been coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to propagate so that organizations and individuals who are subject to payment for forest environmental services correctly and clearly understand the policy and raise awareness about the use of clean water resources provided by the forest ecosystem.

Revenue from forest environmental services contributes significantly to the protection and development of forests in the province.

At the same time, review and identify organizations and individuals doing business in ecotourism, resort, entertainment services and aquaculture organizations or collaborating with aquaculture households and individuals who are required to pay for forest environmental services; check the implementation of regulations on declaration, payment methods and deadlines according to regulations.

It is known that in 2024, the whole province has 65 contracts to entrust payment for forest environmental services to hydropower production units, clean water production and supply units, industrial production units using water from water sources; total revenue from forest environmental services reached nearly 157 billion VND. This source of revenue has created livelihoods, improved the lives of people living near forests, contributing significantly to the work of protecting and developing forests in the province.
