According to VGC , Blizzard announced three new expansions for World of Warcraft at the BlizzCon event on November 3, as well as confirming that Cataclysm will be coming to World of Warcraft: Classic next year.
All three expansions will be part of the Worldsoul Saga, which is described as an epic story that celebrates 20 years of World of Warcraft and lays a new foundation for the future of Azeroth. The War Within will take players to the continent of Khaz Algar, a forgotten land located in the north of Azeroth. Here, players will face a dark force that threatens the depths of Azeroth. Some of the new content of The War Within includes:
- New Khaz Algar continent: includes areas such as Dorn Island, The Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall and the Nerubian kingdom of Azj-Kahet.
- New races: Vrykul, Nerubian and Faceless One.
- New game mode: War Within Campaign, allows players to explore the expansion's story through missions and world events.
Next, Midnight will take players back to Quel'thalas, the home of the Night Elves. Here, players will face the forces of the Void, who are trying to extinguish the Sunwell. New content for Midnight includes:
- Return to Quel'thalas, including areas such as Silvermoon City, Eversong Woods, and Sunwell Plateau.
- New game mode: Midnight Assault, allows players to participate in Void raids to capture the Sunwell.
The Last Titan takes players back to Northrend, where the Titans created Azeroth. Here, players will discover a shocking conspiracy, as well as the true purpose of Azeroth. New content in The Last Titan includes:
- Return to Northrend, with areas like Ulduar and Storm Peaks.
