To ensure sustainability and feasibility in planning implementation, Binh Duong province is making efforts to relocate manufacturing enterprises to planning areas to expand development space, establish an ecosystem of linked industrial zones and clusters, avoid concentrated urban areas and minimize environmental pollution risks.
Currently, the infrastructure of industrial parks (IPs) and transport infrastructure in the northern localities of the province are being completed, ready to welcome investors. The Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and sectors are urgently researching and establishing policies and plans according to a specific roadmap so that businesses can be thoroughly prepared when relocating or converting functions, as well as resettling in new locations. The province is also promoting the implementation of regional connectivity infrastructure, creating a spillover momentum.
Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that in order to effectively implement the planning of Binh Duong province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Binh Duong continues to invest in new and expand existing industrial parks but towards higher standards of science - technology and environmental protection. In particular, the province focuses on developing industry associated with urban - service areas to attract increasingly high-quality and effective investment capital. The form of investment in building industrial park infrastructure in Binh Duong is diverse and suitable to the actual conditions of the province.
In the new period, Binh Duong is positioning itself in a new segment, which is industrial development associated with science - technology development and innovation. The transformation towards green economy, circular economy, and digital economy in industrial zones is a key factor to enhance competitiveness and ensure sustainable development of the province.
And to develop the province's supporting industry, recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Decision No. 4108/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the "Project on orientation for the development of supporting industrial clusters in Binh Duong province to 2020, with a vision to 2030".
Up to now, Binh Duong has formed industries producing raw materials for the textile industry (industry producing yarn, weaving, sewing thread, buttons, zippers, dyeing, finishing textile products...), leather and footwear (tanning, production of shoe soles, shoe uppers...), mechanics (metal production, production of metal products, production of machinery, equipment and spare parts for the automobile, motorbike and other transport industries, construction industry, textile and garment industry, leather and footwear, wood processing, consumer goods production industry...), electricity - electronics (production of electronic components, production, production of electrical wiring equipment, optical cables...). However, Binh Duong still does not have an industrial park (IP) for specialized supporting industries, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Binh Duong - told Binh Duong newspaper.
However, sharing the green transformation situation in industrial parks in Binh Duong, Mr. Thi said at the "Conference on Energy Automation, the driving force for smart manufacturing" on June 20, Binh Duong is developing more green industrial parks with standards on environmental protection, efficient use of resources and energy. In the coming time, Binh Duong will invest in developing 4 supporting industrial clusters with an area of 75 hectares each, including building 1 supporting industrial cluster specializing in mechanics. Binh Duong has also planned 1 more industrial park for the mechanical industry to contribute to promoting the development of the province's supporting industry.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan - General Director of Becamex IDC Corporation - also said that building and developing models of high-tech industrial parks, ecological industrial parks... to meet the requirements of green economic development globally is very necessary.
According to the approved plan, by 2030, Binh Duong province will have 42 industrial parks with a total area of 18,600 - 21,000 hectares. By 2050, the whole province will have 41 - 42 industrial parks with a total area of about 25,000 hectares. For newly established industrial parks, in addition to the multi-industry industrial park type, Binh Duong will prioritize development in the direction of supporting industrial parks, specialized industrial parks, ecological industrial parks and high-tech industrial parks, according to Binh Duong Newspaper.
