Beach tourism is still a popular choice among Vietnamese people in the summer, but not all destinations are crowded.
Top destinations preferred by many tourists include Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Sam Son (Thanh Hoa), Da Nang, Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan).
According to data from Mustgo, a booking platform for agency customers and a partner of more than 2,000 hotels nationwide, Sam Son still maintains its summer appeal as every year with a room occupancy rate of up to 90% on weekends. There are times when the room occupancy rate during the week is equivalent to the weekend. Beach hotels in Sam Son have a full range of 3 to 4 stars, so the room occupancy rate is also 15-20% higher than that of central hotels.
Pham Lan, a tourist who just arrived in Sam Son on June 8, shared that she had to "squeeze in to bathe" when she arrived in Sam Son. Due to the large number of visitors, families with small children had to be careful because "if they took their eyes off each other for a moment, they would lose each other". Aside from the beach not being clean, she was quite satisfied with this trip, especially the fact that she did not encounter any rip-offs.

On June 10 and 11, the Ha Long City tourist center welcomed about 100,000 visitors, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last week. Of which, Ha Long Bay welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors. Quang Ninh Museum welcomed about 7,000 visitors. Other destinations such as Sunworld Complex, Tuan Chau, the number of visitors all tended to increase. Quang Ninh's island areas such as Van Don, Co To, Mong Cai also welcomed tens of thousands of tourists.
According to Top One Travel, beach destinations such as Ha Long, Sam Son or Cat Ba (Hai Phong) are always "hot" during the summer. This year, tourists are tightening their travel expenses, so destinations that are easily accessible by car or private vehicle are given priority.
On average, these types of trips are about 30-50% cheaper than air travel. The number of customers booking travel services at these three destinations also accounts for 30% of the company's total summer customers. Customers tend to not book in a hurry, often booking close to the date because there is currently no "full room" situation.

In the Central region, Da Nang is still the leading name despite the current increase in hotel room prices, partly due to the fireworks festival in Da Nang. Data from Mustgo shows that hotel prices in Da Nang have increased by about 30% compared to before. The occupancy rate of 3-4 star hotels on the weekends at coastal hotels often reaches more than 80%, and during the week it is about 60% (during the days of the fireworks festival). However, hotels, especially those in the 2 million VND per night segment, are showing a slight decrease in prices.
The average cost of a hotel room in Da Nang, as recorded by Mustgo, is from VND600,000 to VND1 million per night. Tourists prefer to stay in the My Khe beach area, An Thuong tourist street, along the Han River, Dragon Bridge, and Con Market.
Quy Nhon is also a popular destination with a stable room occupancy rate, from 40% to 60% for 2-3 star and 4-5 star segments.
In the southern region, Phu Quoc is no longer as "hot" as last summer. The reason given by Mustgo is that Phu Quoc is entering the season of unfavorable weather and rough seas. The 2-3 star segment in the center has a room occupancy rate of about 35-40%. The 4-5 star segment by the sea has a room occupancy rate of about 30%. On weekdays, the room occupancy rate is lower.
Since the beginning of June, Phu Quoc has been experiencing sudden showers, affecting the tourist experience. However, the rain usually does not last long, and the 4-island tours are still running normally.

In addition, the new highway also affects the number of visitors in Vung Tau (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) as predicted. Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thao, Sales Director of Mustgo, said that the room fund in Vung Tau is still quite large because a number of visitors from the south "shifted" to Phan Thiet after the highway was opened. There are still many rooms available during the week.
In Phan Thiet, during June and July, many hotels are fully booked on weekends. Four- and five-star hotels only have a few high-class rooms left. Since July, the number of visitors during the week has tended to increase.
