Arrest of subjects in the app fraud ring

The Criminal Police Department - Provincial Police has just arrested Vu Duy Son (born in 1997, residing in Van Quan ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) to expand the investigation and handle the act of fraud and property appropriation.

According to the initial investigation, on February 19, 2023, Mr. H (residing in Buon Ma Thuot City) went to the police station to report that he had been defrauded by a group of scammers. Before that, Mr. H went online and accessed the link Henho.bio to find someone of the opposite sex to confide in. Immediately after that, he was instructed by a customer service staff to log in to the "Ky nu" app. However, when following the instructions, he was scammed out of more than 1 billion VND.

After a period of active investigation, the Criminal Police Department - Provincial Police clarified that Vu Duy Son was a "link" in the above fraud ring, so he was arrested.

Initially, Son confessed that around mid-October 2022, through social networks, Son got to know Hung and Minh (unknown background) who were living in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). In December 2022, Minh contacted Son via Telegram and assigned the subject to receive money transferred by those who were tricked by Minh's group into participating in the apps "Henho" and "Ky nu". Every month, Minh would pay Son 12 million VND.

To carry out the act, Minh gave Son 6 mobile phones and 31 bank accounts. Every day, through the apps "Henho" and "Ky nu", the subjects in Minh's group would lure players to participate. Then, the subjects advised the players to deposit more money to become VIP members. If the deposit was larger and the player successfully logged in, the company would refund the amount the player had deposited and receive a certain amount of interest. After the subjects in Minh's group lured the player to deposit money, they would notify Son to provide the account number for the player to deposit money into. Son was responsible for transferring all the money to Minh.

With the above trick, from December 2022 to now, Son has helped Minh's group defraud more than 300 people, appropriating over 200 billion VND. Son alone has earned about 300 million VND.
