Political reports must arouse pride, self-reliance, self-confidence of cadres, party members and people.

On August 27, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary and President To Lam, Head of the Party's 14th National Congress Document Subcommittee, chaired the 2nd meeting of the Document Subcommittee, giving comments on the draft Political Report developed by the Editorial Team based on the detailed Outline approved at the 9th Central Conference of the 13th tenure.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Standing member of the Subcommittee, Head of the Document Editorial Team presented the Subcommittee's Report on the draft Political Report. Following that, members of the Document Subcommittee contributed their opinions to the draft Political Report.

In his concluding remarks, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged and commended the proactive and responsible working spirit of the Document Editorial Team in completing the draft of the 6th Political Report and submitting it to the Subcommittee. The Subcommittee members basically agreed on the content and assessed that the quality of the draft Political Report submitted this time had clearly improved. In particular, the contents summarizing 40 years of innovation were presented more concisely and clearly, demonstrating the serious acceptance of the comments of the Editorial Team.

Noting that the upcoming work is still very large, while time is running out, General Secretary and President To Lam requested the Subcommittee, the Standing Committee of the Document Subcommittee, and the Document Editorial Team to speed up, spend more time and effort, carefully study the issued documents, seek the participation and contributions of former leaders, intellectuals, researchers, and managers, focus on exploiting the results of scientific research at home and abroad, good practices, new models in practice, especially the practice over 40 years of innovation to continue to refine, supplement, and edit; at the same time, closely and regularly coordinate with the subcommittees and editorial teams of other subcommittees, complete the draft Political Report on schedule and with high quality, submit it to the Politburo for consideration, comments, completion, and submission to the 10th Central Conference.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the Political Report is the central report, so the content must reflect the viewpoints and policies; must unify the perception of the new historical starting point, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise after 40 years of carrying out the renovation process; arouse the pride, self-reliance, self-reliance and confidence of cadres, party members and people in the correct and wise line of the Party, in the goals and path to socialism that beloved Uncle Ho and the entire nation have chosen. The Editorial Team and the Document Subcommittee need to continue to thoroughly grasp the guiding thoughts of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, especially the three basic principles in drafting documents, which are: Perseverance and innovation; inheritance and development; skillful combination of theory and practice, theoretical research, summarizing practice and policy orientation. During the discussion and deliberations, the Document Subcommittee and the Editorial Team must promote democracy and collective intelligence, uphold the spirit of openness and listening, and create high unity, especially on new and difficult issues so that the Political Report is truly an intellectual and creative product of the Party.
