Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan was dismissed from the National Assembly.

This morning, March 21, the 15th National Assembly held its 6th extraordinary session to review and decide on personnel work within its authority.

The National Assembly has conducted the process of removing Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan (former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc Province) from office. The resolution on the removal was also voted and approved by the National Assembly.

Previously, on March 20, the 13th Party Central Committee met to consider disciplining Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province.

The Central Committee concluded: Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province, has degraded in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; seriously violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; was negative, accepted bribes, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and very bad influence on the reputation of the Party organization and local government.

The Party Central Committee decided to discipline Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan by expelling her from the Party.

On March 7, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1000, agreeing to the request of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan in accordance with the law. The National Assembly Standing Committee also temporarily suspended Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a member of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.

On March 8, the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security decided to initiate additional prosecutions on the crimes of “accepting bribes”, “violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences”, “taking advantage of influence over people in positions of power for personal gain” occurring in Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, Vinh Long provinces and related units.

The arrest of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan is part of the ongoing investigation into the case at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company (Phuc Son Group), Thang Long Real Estate and Trade Investment Joint Stock Company and related units.
