To better serve customers and enhance growth efficiency, SCG has brought key SAP business planning support applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and data management software for multiple business units, to the AWS cloud.
AWS now offers comprehensive cloud storage services
By running its SAP applications on AWS, SCG can combine production and inventory data in real time across its operations in multiple locations, such as Vietnam. This allows SCG to develop new services that improve customer experience by providing easy and secure access to various services, while reducing IT costs by 30%.
Using AWS services, SCG developed Trinity, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform that connects SCG with business partners and third-party solution providers to deploy smart living solutions, such as elderly and patient monitoring systems and air quality control solutions in apartment buildings.
Accenture AWS Business Group (AABG), a partnership between Accenture and AWS for over a decade, is supporting SCG’s cloud journey. Accenture’s IT One Thailand is responsible for SCG’s AWS migration. IT One has modernized SCG’s SAP systems on AWS, building a technology platform to develop new services with the ability to automatically provision IT infrastructure, improve security controls, and easily update software across the group.
“Across the region, organizations are leveraging cloud technology to rapidly grow, improve efficiency, and innovate. AWS is helping SCG improve its systems with our world-class cloud infrastructure, including the soon-to-be-launched AWS Bangkok Region. SCG sets the industry standard by harnessing and applying data to improve operations and develop new customer services,” said Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Manager, AWS Thailand.
