Recently, on social network X, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a short video with a silver Apple logo and the following phrases: "Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19. #AppleLaunch".
Tech expert Mark Gurman - who often reports accurate Apple rumors - claims that Tim Cook is talking about the new iPhone SE.
Similar to previous iPhone SE models, the iPhone SE 4 will be launched next March. The iPhone SE 4 is said to have a similar design to the iPhone 14 but with many notable improvements.
The device is expected to feature a 6.06-inch OLED screen with a notch, FaceID instead of a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, USB-C port, and a 48MP rear camera. The device will be powered by an A18 chip, support Apple Intelligence, and be the first product to feature Apple's own 5G modem.
In addition to the name iPhone SE 4, some sources also predict that Apple will use the name iPhone 16E to match the current iPhone line.
The Apple CEO's post seems more like a teaser than an event invitation, so it's likely that the company won't hold a new event and the next product will be announced via press release.
However, there will likely be announcement videos on YouTube, just like when Apple announced new iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro models with M4 chips last October.
