According to statistics, the province currently has 12,930 food production, trading and service establishments, of which the health sector manages 3,408 establishments, agriculture manages 6,862 establishments and industry and trade 2,660 establishments. In an effort to ensure food safety, for the health of the community, all levels and sectors in the area have promoted the dissemination of policies, laws and knowledge on food safety; requiring food production and trading establishments to sign a commitment to ensure food safety. Timely inform consumers about safe, high-quality food supply chains, establishments that violate regulations and pose potential food safety risks. Encourage people's participation in monitoring individuals and food production and trading establishments in complying with food safety laws.

In 2024, departments and branches issued over 400 Certificates of food safety eligibility and organized 834 establishments to sign food safety commitments. Departments and branches established 1,008 teams, inspected 7,030 establishments, discovered 469 establishments that did not meet requirements, of which 45 establishments were administratively sanctioned and 424 establishments were required to correct their violations; the total amount of food destroyed was over 269 kg.

Right from the stage of selecting varieties, planting, caring, and harvesting, the Cooperative's raw tea areas have ensured clean and organic standards to obtain the best products. During the preliminary processing and processing, the Cooperative always strictly adheres to clean production processes, ensuring food safety, and regularly conducts quality testing samples. Currently, the Cooperative has 4 products recognized by the province as 4-star OCOP, 2 products continue to be recognized as 5-star National OCOP; some products are exported to European markets, Taiwan (China)... affirming the quality of the Cooperative's tea products.

Vice Chairman of Hoang Su Phi District People's Committee, Ly Choi Nhan, said: With the characteristics of mountainous areas, where most ethnic minorities live, people's awareness of ensuring food hygiene and safety is still limited, and food poisoning cases still occur every year. The district has directed functional branches, communes and towns to step up propaganda to producers, food processing and trading establishments to comply with hygiene conditions of facilities, equipment and tools in production; use raw materials and food additives of clear origin and origin, in the right dosage. Propaganda for consumers to choose, process and preserve safe food, not to use products of unknown origin. At the same time, step up inspection and examination of food production and trading establishments, strictly handle violations.
However, food safety assurance work still has some shortcomings such as: Limited post-inspection capacity; lack of deployment force, especially at district and commune levels. Information technology has not been applied in food safety management. Smuggling of some hazardous foods has appeared; many types of food with new business forms (such as business, advertising on multinational social platforms) are difficult to manage...
In the context of rapid social development, the demand for food consumption is increasing, requiring stronger participation of local authorities in food safety management and control. At the same time, each citizen needs to proactively equip themselves with knowledge and grasp information to prevent the risk of food insecurity and poisoning.
