AirTag 2 could launch in 2024

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên04/08/2023

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple distributors will start mass producing the next generation of AirTag from the fourth quarter of 2024. More than 3 years ago, the first generation of AirTag was launched on the market, with a listed price of $29.

Kuo revealed that the new AirTag model will also be compatible with the recently introduced Vision Pro glasses from Apple, integrated as part of the "bitten apple" company's spatial computing ecosystem. However, the expert did not provide details about the new device or the features that will appear on Apple's positioning product line.

AirTag được quan tâm vì khả năng định vị khá chính xác vị trí theo thời gian thực

AirTag is of interest because of its ability to locate quite accurately in real time.

AirTag currently on the market is equipped with a U1 chip manufactured by Apple itself, supporting the ability to accurately locate the location where this device is placed. Expert Ming-Chi Kuo once revealed that the iPhone 15 series also upgraded the Ultra Wideband chip, a move that made experts believe that Apple would upgrade the chip to the U2 generation on both the new iPhone and AirTag.

There's still more than a year until the second-generation AirTag enters "mass production," so more product details could emerge in the coming months.

In Vietnam, AirTag is being sold by authorized dealers (AAR) for between VND 690,000 and VND 790,000 each or a set of 4 for about VND 2.5 million - not a small price for a device that only helps locate items when attached.
