Although not widely known, Acer's return with two budget smartphones in India immediately received the attention of the community, especially in the context of some smartphone brands no longer existing. The two new smartphones from Acer include Acerpure Acerone Liquid S272E4 and Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 designed for the budget Android phone segment.
New smartphone specs from Acer 'not too outstanding'
First is the Liquid S272E4, a smartphone with a 6.75-inch HD+ display, an 8-core processor from MediaTek, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The device runs on the Android 14 operating system and is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery. The device's camera system includes a 20 MP main camera, a 0.3 MP secondary camera and a 5 MP front camera.
Meanwhile, the Liquid S162E4 features a brighter 6.5-inch HD+ display, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chip, and a 16MP main camera. Despite its smaller size, it also comes with Android 14, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card slot. Both phones support Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G LTE connectivity.
While there aren’t many standout specs, it makes sense for Acer to target the Indian market, where demand for budget devices is higher than for high-end products. For now, Acer has no plans to launch these budget smartphones in key markets like the US. However, if the Indian experiment proves successful, the company may consider expanding its presence again with more premium products in the future.
