However, 6 men who were eating steamed fish and fish eggs cooked with fermented rice at the same table developed unusual symptoms 3-4 hours after eating. All patients vomited, had severe abdominal pain and had frequent bowel movements. Some patients had more than 10 bowel movements before being transferred to the hospital.

The whole party of 6 people were hospitalized after eating rocket crocodile eggs.

After being transferred to the district medical center and given first aid, the patients were transferred to Hoa Binh Provincial General Hospital.

Upon admission, the patients were all in a state of fatigue, abdominal pain, vomiting and frequent diarrhea. Along with that were symptoms of headache and dizziness.

Initial tests showed that the patients had metabolic acidosis and water-electrolyte disturbances.

At Hoa Binh General Hospital, patients were quickly treated and given intensive care by doctors from many specialties in the hospital.

Doctors quickly used measures to eliminate toxins, give intravenous fluids, and replenish electrolytes for the patient.

After 2 days of treatment and intensive care, 6 patients have overcome the critical stage and are continuing to be monitored at Hoa Binh Provincial General Hospital.

According to Dr. Hoang Cong Tinh, Head of Intensive Care Unit 1, Hoa Binh General Hospital, the scientific name of the fire-armed crocodile is Lepisosteus osseus. Some families often raise fire-armed crocodiles as pets.

According to some scientific articles, the eggs and intestines of the alligator gar contain toxins that directly affect the human digestive, nervous and cardiovascular systems.

In experiments, scientists fed mice with rocket crocodile eggs and the mice died. Therefore, Dr. Hoang Cong Tinh recommends that people absolutely do not eat rocket crocodile eggs and the parts surrounding these eggs.
