Some students of Le Quy Don High School (District 3) were hospitalized after vomiting a lot of food they ate at noon and having stomachaches. Samples have been sent for testing to find the cause.
On the afternoon of October 10, Saigon General Hospital received and is monitoring 5 students from Le Quy Don High School suspected of food poisoning.
Dr. Vu Duc Nhan, Deputy Head of the General Planning Department, said that at around 3 p.m., Saigon General Hospital received information from the 115 Emergency Center about a number of suspected cases of food poisoning at Le Quy Don High School. Saigon General Hospital immediately sent an emergency team to the school.
After approaching the students, the emergency team decided to take 5 cases to the hospital for monitoring. At the time of admission, the students vomited a lot of food they had eaten at noon, had dull abdominal pain around the navel, and were responsive.
The Emergency Department team resuscitated the patients, provided pain relief, and closely monitored their condition. Currently, all five patients are conscious, have stable vital signs, and no longer vomit or have abdominal pain. They are 11th and 12th graders at the school.
Following the instructions of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, the hospital took samples of the patient's vomit and stool and sent them to the Institute of Public Health for toxicological and microbiological testing to find the cause. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has also taken note of the incident.
