Specifically, according to Mr. Eric Yeo, Country Director of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Vietnam - Gen AI, cloud technology and machine learning are becoming more accessible, affecting every aspect of our lives, from writing emails to software development.

Mr. Eric also shared the comments of Dr. Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon, on 4 important and relevant technology predictions for businesses in Vietnam in 2024.
First, AI-powered coding assistants will be a transformative force, shaping the way developers approach coding challenges. AI assistants will automatically complete code, providing quick solutions to common problems, allowing developers to focus on the more complex aspects of the problem.
The second prediction is that femtech, technology for women, is finally here. Increased investment and development of products and services that address women’s health and wellness will continue to grow, making their lives more comfortable. The rise of femtech will not only benefit women, but will also transform and elevate the entire healthcare system.
Third, higher education will evolve to match the pace of technology. More and more industries are moving toward specialization for their employees. Amazon has trained 21 million tech learners worldwide in tech skills through programs like mechatronics, robotics, and the AWS Cloud Academy. All of these programs have allowed learners at different points in their careers to gain additional skills that are needed.
The final prediction is that Gen AI will be culturally aware. Today, if you look at most large language models, 46% of them are English and have an American Western culture. As cultural fluency continues to be incorporated into large language models or LLMs, it will make generative AI more accessible to users around the world.
Arcanic AI, a startup in Vietnam, is a good example of developing AI models optimized for Vietnamese users. By integrating Vietnamese social data and understanding the country’s culture, customs, and traditions, as well as fine-tuning the results on Amazon SageMaker, these models are culturally aware and provide appropriate responses to users.
The public cloud market in Vietnam is expected to reach $1.4 billion by 2027, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 26.5%, according to IDC. Eric said that many AWS customers in Vietnam are embarking on the data and analytics journey; some of them have also embarked on the Gen AI journey.
