Youth football is developing very strongly. In particular, the model of community and school football clubs is increasingly expanding, receiving attention, attracting a large number of children to participate in training to improve their health, as well as nurture the dream of becoming a professional football player.
Accordingly, the 2023 Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province U.9 Open Football Tournament was organized for the first time by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with agencies, units and localities to create a healthy and useful playground for children in the summer. Thereby, this tournament also contributes to the development of the sports movement in general and football in particular in the province. In particular, this is also an important foundation to help discover and introduce young football talents to football clubs and training centers across the country.
The U.9 football tournament of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province opened on the evening of June 10.
In the first organization, the tournament gathered 12 U.9 football teams in and outside the province, including: U.9 Ba Ria City, U.9 VES Ba Ria Football Center, U.9 Chau Duc District, U.9 Phu My Town, U.9 Tai Loc Vung Tau, U.9 Truong Cong Dinh Primary School, U.9 Thang Nhat Primary School, U.9 Binh An FC, U.9 Xuyen Moc Kids, U.9 Tiger Football and 2 guest teams: U.9 Luxcom Ngoc Hung (HCMC) and U.9 Van Tam Dong Nai.
The tournament will start from June 10 to 16, 2023, at the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Sports Stadium (607 Nguyen An Ninh, Vung Tau City). All 20 matches of the tournament will be broadcast and reported live. The 12 teams participating in the 2023 Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial U.9 Open Football Tournament will be provided with full competition uniforms.
12 disadvantaged children from 12 football teams were awarded scholarships
The total value of the prize for the collective and individuals with outstanding achievements in the tournament is 50 million VND. The tournament became even more meaningful when the organizing committee mobilized sponsorship to award 12 scholarships to young players with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties in studying. In addition, in order to create a vibrant cheering atmosphere, contribute to spreading the love of football, towards a tournament held regularly every year, the organizing committee also awarded an additional prize to the best fan club.
