Recently, many valuable historical and cultural relics in Dong Nai province have begun to receive more attention.
The historical site of Bien Hoa Citadel (Quang Vinh Ward), located about 300 meters from the center of Bien Hoa City, has historical and architectural value, with an age of over 300 years, and is considered the most intact citadel in the Southern region, and has been ranked as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 2013. However, for many years, near the citadel gate, many households have encroached on the land to build houses for living and trading, causing the relic to lose its beauty. From 2014 to 2017, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province invested more than 41 billion VND to restore and preserve some parts of the citadel, such as: the eastern ancient house, the western ancient house, the citadel fence, and many auxiliary works... However, due to the incomplete restoration and the shabby condition of the citadel facade, it has not been effective.

Also in Dong Nai, the Trinh Hoai Duc tomb relic was ranked as a national relic in 1990, but currently some of the Trinh family's tombs have been encroached upon and used for other purposes. Meanwhile, the road to this relic site (on the side of 30/4 Street) is quite narrow, only enough room for motorbikes to pass, making it difficult to attract visitors. According to the Bien Hoa City Project Management Board, the project was approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee 15 years ago, but has not yet been implemented due to many difficulties and problems in the implementation process. However, after Dong Nai Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh chaired a meeting of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and decided to keep the 100-year-old "Mr. Phu's mansion" (also known as the villa of Governor Vo Ha Thanh) in Bien Hoa City to preserve and promote its cultural and architectural values (September 26), other cultural works began to receive attention from departments and agencies. Specifically, this locality has begun to review and carry out investment procedures and restoration of the above-mentioned relics... The changes corresponding to the restoration and protection of these relics in reality need a lot of time to evaluate. However, the changes in the perspective of the authorities on relics and cultural works that have long received little attention are very noteworthy.
