HAGL stands still, 'king of draws' Ha Tinh stands in an unexpected position

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên16/02/2025

HAGL continues to not win

HAGL is considered to be better than the visiting team Binh Dinh in the match at 5pm on February 16 at Pleiku Stadium. However, coach Le Quang Trai's team failed to take advantage of their home field to take all 3 points.

After allowing Binh Dinh to unexpectedly score an early goal through Hong Phuoc in the 12th minute, HAGL finally took control of the game. However, it was only through a cross-field attack with a strong foreign player's mark that the home team could find an equalizer. In the 29th minute, Washington Brandao jumped high to head in Marciel da Silva's cross to bring the game back to the starting line.

Happy days have not returned to HAGL

The following minutes saw HAGL play better, but not enough to completely overwhelm Binh Dinh Club. There was not much difference between the two teams, when the away team Binh Dinh took the initiative to play tight to limit mistakes, while HAGL wanted to attack but it was... difficult due to limited strength.

The 1-1 draw against Binh Dinh left HAGL in 8th place after the first leg, with 17 points after 13 matches. This is a low ranking compared to HAGL's good start at the beginning of the season (ranked first after 3 rounds), but it reflects the true strength of the mountain town representative.

Ha Tinh Club continues its happy days

There was only a draw in this round, but Ha Tinh Club can celebrate, because coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and his team completed the first leg in an "unprecedented" way: undefeated.

Despite being trailing by 2 goals to Binh Duong FC at Go Dau Stadium (Tien Linh and Minh Khoa scored), the away team Ha Tinh still fought back strongly in the last 20 minutes of the match to leave with 1 point. Geovane (minute 79) and Quang Nam (minute 89) respectively left a strong impression with important goals, sealing a 2-2 draw for the Central representative.

Ha Tinh Club (red shirt) played with great effort to leave with 1 point.

Holding host Binh Duong to a draw, Ha Tinh Club ended the first leg of V-League 2024 - 2025 as the only unbeaten team. After 13 matches, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong's students won 3, drew 10, earned 19 points, ranked 5th.

Nam Dinh FC is still leading the V-League with 24 points after 13 matches. Second is Thanh Hoa FC with 23 points after 12 matches. Third and fourth are The Cong Viettel (22 points, 12 matches) and Hanoi (20 points, 13 matches). The top teams have very close scores, so the situation can change after just one round.

In the bottom group, Da Nang FC is still at the bottom of the table with 8 points after 13 matches, but coach Le Duc Tuan and his team have improved their form by winning 4 points in the last 2 matches. Hai Phong FC is ranked 13th with 11 points after 13 matches. SLNA is ranked 12th with 12 points, equal to Quang Nam (ranked 11th) but ranked behind due to a lower goal difference.
