On November 15, the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen District (Hanoi), in coordination with partners, organized the announcement ceremony of the program "Cuu Village - Fashion, Art and Tourism" (Cuu Village Show). Accordingly, the program is scheduled to take place on December 21-22, at the ancient village of Cuu, Van Tu Commune, Phu Xuyen District, Hanoi.
According to the organizers, the event is not only an opportunity to promote the unique image of Cuu village - an ancient village over 500 years old on the peaceful Nhue River, but also creates an opportunity for this craft village to integrate internationally.
This is also part of the program to build a unique craft village tourism destination, promoting the unique traditional culture of Cuu village in the context of global cultural integration. Through exchange activities, economic cooperation and artistic exchanges, the event not only strengthens cultural connections between countries but also supports businesses to exploit markets, promoting Vietnamese craft village products to reach further.
At the historical space of Cuu village, the event will bring a series of rich activities including: Performing arts, trade exchanges and introduction of culinary culture.
At Cuu Village Show, the traditional craft activities of Cuu village will be vividly and deeply portrayed, giving visitors a true look at the craft techniques that have existed for generations.
The sewing profession, considered the "best in Hanoi" since the French colonial period, will be recreated through ancient sewing tables with skillful artisans embroidering each stitch. Products such as ao dai, handkerchiefs and handmade accessories all have the characteristics of Cuu village, demonstrating the talent of ancient Vietnamese craftsmen. In addition, visitors can also admire the process of making sophisticated pottery and handicrafts with each meticulous step, from shaping, carving to decorating patterns, vividly recreating a part of the rich cultural heritage of traditional Vietnamese craft villages.
Meet The Arts will display artworks and traditional handicrafts such as ceramics, brocades and handicrafts made by artisans from Cuu village, helping visitors deeply feel the quintessence of Vietnamese culture.
Meet The Poet is a gathering of famous poets from Vietnam and Italy. Poets will share and interact through selected works, bringing moments of immersion in words and emotions. This is not only an opportunity for the audience to enjoy poetry but also a meeting place for art lovers, creating emotional and cultural connections between the two countries.
For fashion lovers, the special event Fashion Show will introduce the latest collections that combine traditional and modern influences, with the main "models" being residents of Cuu village. Designers will recreate the beauty of traditional costumes, creatively innovated, thereby promoting Vietnamese and Italian fashion culture with trendy styles.
Next is Meet The Music, a concert featuring talented artists from Vietnam and Italy, with both traditional and modern music. Here, the audience will be immersed in melodies connecting two cultures, creating a cozy space for emotional exchange.
Mr. Alberto Sebastianelli - representative of the program's Organizing Committee said: "As a cultural worker, I want to create an event so that visitors to Cuu village will not only see this beautiful and ancient place. They will be able to immerse themselves in activities, creating artistic inspiration, from which valuable films and literary works can be created."
Cuu Village is a hundreds-year-old ancient village, located in Van Tu Commune, Phu Xuyen District, Hanoi City. Located on the peaceful banks of the Nhue River, witnessing many changes of the times, Cuu Village still retains the nostalgic and quiet values of the 20th century. Unlike Duong Lam Ancient Village and Dong Ngac Village, which have traditional architecture with ancient wooden houses, Cuu Village stands out with its Asian-European fusion architecture with houses built in European style but still retaining traditional Vietnamese architecture.
