Lunar New Year is approaching, the market for Tet decorative plants in Hanoi is cooling down; many retailers are starting to sell their plants, cutting losses and selling at any price.

Less than 3 days until the Lunar New Year 2025, the Tet tree market is showing signs of cooling down, the number of customers buying Tet decorative trees has also decreased, causing the amount of trees, including peach blossoms, kumquats, grapefruits, apricot blossoms... to still flood many streets in Hanoi.

Along Highway 32 in Tram Troi town, Hoai Duc district; Tet trees are still abundant on the sidewalks, making many small traders feel like they are "sitting on fire", some places have started to sell kumquat, peach and other types of trees in the hope of selling them soon to bring home for Tet.

Since yesterday (January 25), many retailers have started to sell trees at discounted prices, cutting losses in hopes of selling out.

At the largest Spring Flower Festival in Hanoi held in front of My Dinh Stadium, many vendors huddled in the cold weather, trying to stay and sell their remaining stock. However, the weather was too cold, there were not many buyers, and some vendors began to sell their plants.

Ms. Hoa, a kumquat tree seller in Ba Vi district, said she hoped that after the Tet holiday, people would buy trees to celebrate Tet, but there were not many buyers, so she decided to sell the trees at a discount so that customers could come and buy them and go home early to celebrate Tet.

Cold weather and reduced purchasing power have caused many vendors at the Spring Flower Festival in front of My Dinh Stadium to start selling off their goods.

A small tree seller in Tram Troi town, Hoai Duc district, and his two younger brothers rented a space of hundreds of square meters at a drinking place, and brought nearly 500 kumquat and peach trees to sell to earn money during Tet. However, up to this point, all three brothers are worried because the number of trees "stuck" in the drinking place is still too much.

Some pictures of kumquat vendors hoping to sell out their goods soon so they can go home for Tet:
