With socialized resources, Phong Chau town is gradually building and completing the welcome gate system in residential areas.
Comrade Le Thanh Son - Member of the District Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Phong Chau town said: "To" reach the goal of "building Phong Chau town to meet civilized urban standards according to the set roadmap, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the town have issued a specialized Resolution, developed a plan to specify the criteria for a civilized urban area, associated with the annual socio-economic development goals; assigned specific tasks to members of the Steering Committee; regularly organized inspections, assessments, learned from experience, proposed specific solutions to effectively implement unachieved criteria and maintain achieved criteria".
Identifying urban management and beautification as a key, continuous and important task, from budget sources and mobilizing resources from the people, the town has focused on investing in infrastructure construction, creating an increasingly spacious and modern urban appearance, the town's traffic network has been invested and managed according to the planning. From 2022 to now, more than 141 billion VND has been mobilized for civilized urban construction, of which the state budget is 92.157 billion VND, the town budget is more than 40 billion VND, the people contributed 9 billion VND... The above resources are prioritized to build more than 5.3km of new roads; upgrade, asphalt, and concrete the roads. Up to now, the routes along national highways, provincial roads and streets, cultural houses, schools, medical stations, agencies and units in the area have all had and planted many new types of trees, contributing to increasing the aesthetics of urban space, ensuring security, order, traffic safety, and promoting business and service activities.
Bai Bang ecological lake to Dong Giao area has just been renovated and upgraded, contributing to creating urban landscape, improving the quality of living environment for local people.
To increase people's income, the town has encouraged a gradual shift from agricultural labor to the service, trade, industry, and handicraft sectors, creating favorable conditions for businesses and business households to invest in expanding production and business; mobilizing production and business households to establish enterprises to create jobs and increase income for people. Up to now, the average income of people in the town has reached 56.63 million VND/person/year; the rate of well-off and rich households is increasing, and multidimensional poor households have decreased to 0.68%.
The Steering Committee for building Phong Chau town to meet civilized urban standards has closely coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations and the People to effectively implement the Campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life associated with building a civilized urban area" and the Emulation Movement "Joining hands to build a town to meet civilized urban standards", creating unity and high consensus among the People. In addition, mobilizing cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees to be exemplary in implementing urban civilization criteria, strictly complying with regulations on urban order, construction order, ensuring traffic safety, building a culture of behavior in public places and in the community.
In the field of digital transformation, the town has implemented the model of "Cashless Neighborhood". 100% of businesses and business establishments in the area have QR codes, payment transactions such as hospital fees, tuition fees, electricity and water services... by account have become quite popular with people... At the one-stop department of the People's Committee, administrative procedures are publicly and transparently posted, people are guided to easily perform both in person and online. The security and order surveillance camera system has promptly detected many violations of the law, preventing traffic accidents in the area.
Ms. Tran Huyen Trang, Dong Giao area, Phong Chau town excitedly said: “I have witnessed the daily changes here from narrow, degraded roads, now they have been widened; infrastructure of electricity, roads, schools, stations have been invested in and built spaciously; people's living standards are increasingly improved and enhanced; cultural houses and ecological lakes meet the needs of people to enjoy spiritual culture and exercise. The policy of building a civilized urban area is very popular with the people...”.
With the drastic participation of the entire political system, by the end of September 2024, Phong Chau town had achieved 9/9 criteria and 52/52 civilized urban targets, "finishing" on schedule. The efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of the town have contributed to creating a new look for the land that is on the rise. This is also an important premise to help Phong Chau town continue to promote its position as the political, economic, cultural and social center of the district, contributing to the efforts and struggles with the entire Party, people and army in the district to build Phu Ninh into a new rural district in 2024.
