Nghe An: Quy Hop district will be a major mining industrial center of the province.
Quy Hop is a comprehensive economic zone of the province, located on the key economic development axis of Hoang Mai - Nghia Dan - Thai Hoa - Quy Hop; is the center of the mining industry, providing raw materials for mineral processing of Nghe An.
According to Decision No. 509/QD-UBND just issued by the People's Committee of Nghe An province on approving the planning task of Quy Hop district for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The planning area of Quy Hop district is 93,974.59 hectares.
The Quy Hop District Construction Planning Project is established to orient the unified development of space, technical infrastructure, and social infrastructure closely linked with the provincial planning; ensure synchronous connection with neighboring localities such as Que Phong, Quy Chau, Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa Town, Anh Son, Con Cuong and Tan Ky; harmonious development between urban and rural areas; respect nature, respond to climate change issues to ensure sustainable development.
Along with that, the Planning aims to organize urban and rural spaces and functional areas to contribute to promoting the combined strength, potential and advantages of the locality to promote rapid and sustainable economic growth; healthy development of culture and society; improvement of people's material and spiritual life; and solid national defense and security.
The Planning task aims to promote the position and comprehensive strength of the district in socio-economic development associated with sustainable orientation, effectively exploiting internal and external relations. In which, the strengths are focused on: industry, mineral processing; cultural, community and ecological tourism services; high-tech agriculture and forestry, clean agriculture.

At the same time, create a legal basis for urban and rural planning and development in the district, build planning programs and propose development policies, investment projects, and rational use of resources. Protect the environment, adapt to and withstand climate change. Preserve historical and cultural heritage, natural landscapes and develop local cultural identity. On the other hand, create a legal basis for completing the goal of building Quy Hop district to meet new rural standards.
The tasks of the Quy Hop Regional Planning Project are to analyze and evaluate natural conditions (geographical location, terrain, hydro-climate, land resources, mineral resources, water resources, etc.); socio-economic status; current status of urban and rural distribution; current status of land use and management; current status of social infrastructure, regional technical infrastructure (including: assessment of current status of traffic (domestic, foreign), technical preparation, current status of rainwater drainage, current status of water supply, current status of wastewater drainage, solid waste management, current status of electricity supply and communications, current status of environment; current status of regional resources and environment); current status of development investment programs and projects for the planning area; assessment of management of planning implementation, resource management and environmental protection.
Along with that, propose to develop urban systems, concentrated rural residential areas and functional areas on the basis of exploiting the unique advantages of Quy Hop district in high-tech agriculture, tourism and services to promote the development of diverse economic sectors. Propose the spatial structure of the district with the axes linking the urban system, commune cluster centers, rural residential areas, linked with district and regional economic centers; allocate space for agricultural development, industrial construction, tourism - services, social infrastructure systems, technical infrastructure works, ensuring sustainable urban and rural development; supplement and connect projects that have been and are being implemented in the area. For rural areas: ensure the implementation of key viewpoints in the socio-economic development strategy and the national target program on new rural construction, research typical models for rural areas of Quy Hop district.
Quy Hop area planning is a comprehensive economic zone of the province, located on the key economic development axis of Hoang Mai town - Nghia Dan town - Thai Hoa town - Quy Hop. It is a large mining industrial center of the province, providing raw materials for the mineral processing industry of the province. It is a dynamic economic area, with potential for developing trade services and agriculture, forestry and fisheries associated with Ban Mong lake service tourism.
Previously, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung issued Notice No. 627/TB-UBND directing the development orientation of Quy Hop district to be consistent with natural conditions, available potentials and advantages, traditional cultural values of the locality and development requirements, set goals and targets. Focus on building and expanding cooperative relationships with businesses in the area effectively. Development policies, goals, tasks and solutions must be in line with the people's wishes and for the benefit of the people.
Regarding the key tasks and solutions in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Quy Hop district to continue reviewing the goals, tasks and solutions in the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, especially the 5 key tasks and 3 development breakthroughs. Conduct a review and overall assessment of the indicators, especially the indicators with low results after half a term of implementing the Resolution to have solutions for leadership and direction.
In addition, Quy Hop district is required to focus on reviewing, completing, supplementing and organizing the implementation of plans in a comprehensive and scientific manner, suitable to the development requirements and characteristics of the locality, in sync with the provincial planning and connected with regional planning, especially the Northwest region of Nghe An, connected with neighboring localities (Quy Hop - Thai Hoa - Nghia Dan - Hoang Mai) to create development, exploit the potentials and advantages of the locality.
The district needs to promote economic restructuring towards industry, tourism, services, and agriculture. Regarding industry, priority should be given to developing mineral processing industry, focusing on promoting the application of science and technology in mineral exploitation and processing, increasing investment in advanced and modern equipment to save resources, increase product value and competitiveness of goods.
Regarding tourism and services, focus on developing tourism services, especially connecting and developing community tourism, eco-tourism, cultural tourism and festivals typical of ethnic minorities; strengthen connectivity and connection of tourist spots and routes, build unique local tourism products...
