VPUB - Awarding 22 prizes at the Literature Writing Contest "Dien Bien in my heart" and the Artistic Photography Contest "The beauty of Dien Bien soldiers"

Dienbien.gov.vn - On the afternoon of February 11, at the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center, the Dien Bien Provincial Literature and Arts Association organized the award ceremony for the 2nd Literary Composition Contest "Dien Bien in my heart" and the Artistic Photography Contest "The beauty of Dien Bien soldiers". Attending the ceremony were comrades: Giang Thi Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; Vu A Bang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Comrade Vu A Bang - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the First Prize of the Second "Dien Bien in my heart" Literature Composition Contest to author Hieu Trung Long.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 5 Consolation Prizes to 11 authors with excellent works winning the Literature Writing Contest “Dien Bien in my heart” for the second time, in which author Hieu Trung Long won First Prize with the work “Three thousand, thousand choking wind”. Awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 5 Consolation Prizes to 11 authors with excellent works winning the Art Photography Contest “The beauty of Dien Bien soldiers”, in which author Nguyen Tien Dung (Hanoi) won First Prize with the work “Simple happiness”.

The second “Dien Bien in my heart” writing contest was launched to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. The entries are in the following genres: short stories, notes, memoirs, reports; with content reflecting the people and homeland of Dien Bien, having a positive influence on social life. This contest is for Vietnamese citizens living and working in Dien Bien, requiring Vietnamese people to understand and grasp the policies and economic, cultural and social development of the province. With these criteria, the contest attracted 23 authors with a total of 49 works.

Comrade Giang Thi Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association awarded the Second Prize to the winning authors of the two competitions.

The authors won third prize at the second "Dien Bien in my heart" literature writing contest.

According to the assessment, although the quality of the works is not uniform, there are works that demonstrate the hard work of studying the reality and the results of the construction and development process of Dien Bien province; focusing on innovations, pride and aspirations to rise up, outstanding achievements in patriotic emulation movements. Some authors have affirmed their professionalism in writing from the choice of topics to the writing style. Typical examples are: Ba Ngan, Ngan Dat Gio by Hieu Trung Long; Que Nha Toi O Sau Deo by Quang Thi Dien; Doi Que Huong by Pham Thi Xuan Chau... The new feature in this Literature writing contest is that 8 authors who are not members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association have responded to participate, of which 2 authors won prizes (1 Second Prize and 1 Encouragement Prize).

The Artistic Photography Contest “The Beauty of Dien Bien Soldiers” is a contest to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, to honor the beauty and contributions of Dien Bien soldiers in the process of building and defending the Fatherland. The contest was launched nationwide, with participants being all Vietnamese citizens, foreigners living in Vietnam and foreign tourists. The contest had the participation of 42 authors with 229 works (including 43 photo sets). Dien Bien had 28 authors with 131 works, Hanoi had 9 authors with 61 works, Ho Chi Minh City had 1 author with 14 works, Quang Ninh had 1 author with 7 works, Dong Nai had 2 authors with 10 works, Thai Nguyen had 1 author with 6 works.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the entries adhered to the theme, reflecting the beauty of officers, soldiers, and veterans of the Vietnam People's Army in performing training tasks, combat readiness, cultural and sports activities, production labor, and helping the people. There were Flycam angles that fully captured the images of Dien Bien soldiers along with the peaceful life of ethnic villages. In particular, the contest had many works capturing the sacred and meaningful moments commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. Typical examples include: Simple happiness by Nguyen Tien Dung (Hanoi), Dien Bien Border Guards building a battle formation in the hearts of the people in the far West by Vu Duc (Hanoi), Historic meeting on A1 hill and "Steel roses" in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory by Vu Tien Dung (Quang Ninh)...

The results of the two competitions show the interest of artists nationwide in Dien Bien and the attraction of the competitions launched by the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. In particular, through the competition, new factors, new writers, new photographers with creative abilities and passion have emerged to be trained and admitted to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Through the two competitions, the creative labor activities of the artists have been encouraged, the development of the province's literature and arts to new heights, and artists have been encouraged to promote their intellectual capacity to make worthy contributions to the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of the province; striving for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society./.
