According to Ms. Mai, Valentine's Day falling on the weekend has increased the demand for gifts. Bouquets and gift baskets are continuously ordered by customers 5 days in advance. In particular, the trend of combining fresh flowers with baby three teddy bears is creating a fever, many stores are quickly catching up with the trend with "hot trend" gift sets to please their loved ones.

“The segment of flower bouquets from 300,000 VND and up is popular. In addition to roses, customers also like “edible” fruit gifts such as strawberries, cherries, red apples - symbolizing love. In general, people increasingly prefer practical gifts that are edible, playable, and can be displayed for a long time,” said Ms. Mai.

According to some fresh flower shops, imported roses from Ecuador and the Netherlands cost between 100,000 and 120,000 VND per flower, while domestic roses cost between 15,000 and 25,000 VND per flower.

Recorded on February 13, the price of Da Lat roses offered by traders to flower shops fluctuated from 395,000 to 450,000 VND/bunch (50 flowers) depending on the type and origin. At Diep Suong Shop perfume store (Ward 9, Vinh Long City), customers are coming and going busily, employees are busy processing both direct and online orders. Ms. Tran Thi Diep Suong - the store owner, said: The number of customers has increased by about 50% compared to normal days. Best-selling products include perfume, lipstick, shower gel... with gift prices ranging from 500,000 - 1,000,000 VND/set.

To meet diverse needs, the store imported more chocolates, wax flowers, and decorative lights to help customers easily choose romantic and beautiful gift combos. The price of raw materials such as wax flowers and gift packaging has increased by about 5% compared to normal days. However, the store still tries to keep the price reasonable.

“Instead of just giving perfume, many customers like to combine it with wax flowers to make the gift box more luxurious and keep it as a souvenir. Notably, this year the number of female customers giving gifts to men is equal to that of male customers giving gifts to women. For gifts for men, the shop prioritizes blue, black, and red tones in a minimalist, sophisticated style,” Ms. Suong shared.

Not out of the general trend, chocolate is also a sweet gift that many people look for. According to a survey, high-end boxes of chocolate for Valentine's Day cost from 500,000 VND/box or more, smaller ones cost 150,000-300,000 VND/box (10 pieces).

According to a bakery on 2/9 Street (Ward 1, Vinh Long City), the shop has imported fresh chocolates before Tet to get cheaper prices, with a variety of designs and luxurious gift boxes to serve the Valentine market.
