Dienbien.gov.vn - On the afternoon of February 27, the Provincial Department of Health solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Health Sector's tradition (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025). Attending the ceremony were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lo Van Phuong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; former provincial leaders; former leaders of the Health Sector through the periods.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do presented the "For People's Health" Medal of the Ministry of Health to Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day. Exactly 70 years ago, on February 27, 1955, on the occasion of the Health Workers' Conference, Uncle Ho sent a letter with profound advice: "A good doctor must be like a mother", "We must build a health care system suitable to the needs of our people", "Medicine must be based on scientific, national and mass principles"... Uncle Ho's teachings have been imbued by generations of leaders, doctors, physicians, and the medical industry and have become the consistent motto of the entire medical industry over the past seven decades.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong - Provincial Party Secretary presented flowers from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to congratulate the Department of Health of Dien Bien province.

Promoting the heroic Dien Bien Phu tradition and the noble tradition of the medical sector, over the past 70 years, the Dien Bien Provincial Health Sector (former Lai Chau Province) has overcome many difficulties in the early days of its establishment. Up to now, the provincial health sector has grown in all aspects, with a total of 3,095 staff members, the system of organization, human resources, facilities, equipment, and the health system from the provincial to the grassroots levels has been significantly improved and raised; the rate of people accessing quality health services is increasing, health indicators are improving, and the average life expectancy of people is increasing. The treatment system has 04 provincial hospitals with 840 beds; 10/10 districts, towns, and cities have hospitals with over 1,000 beds; 07 regional polyclinics with 80 beds. The disease prevention system has 04 provincial specialized centers, 10 district health centers performing multi-functions; 100% of communes, wards and towns have health stations. Non-public health has been developed, the whole province has 186 medical facilities; 404 pharmaceutical facilities, meeting the needs of serving the people. The health of the people of all ethnic groups in the province has been significantly improved. Many dangerous epidemics have been basically pushed back or eliminated; life expectancy has increased; the mortality rate of mothers and children has decreased significantly compared to before.

Authorized by the President, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong awarded the title of Meritorious Physician to individuals.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Lo Van Phuong and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Giang Thi Hoa presented the Prime Minister's Certificates of Merit to individuals.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Lo Van Phuong and Director of the Department of Health Pham Giang Nam presented the Ministry of Health's "For People's Health" Medal to individuals.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang presented Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health to the collectives.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Duc Toan and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang presented Certificates of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee to individuals.

Comrades: Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Duc Toan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee to the collectives.

With the achievements gained during the past period, Dien Bien Health Sector has received noble awards. On this occasion, 6 individuals were honored to receive the title of Excellent Physician from the President; 1 collective and 18 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; 6 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health, 3 collectives and 5 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee in implementing the emulation movement "Health Sector 70 years following Uncle Ho's teachings" towards the 70th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Health Sector; 15 individuals were awarded the "For People's Health" Medal by the Ministry of Health./.
