Nearly a decade as a “Sustainable Enterprise”
In December, at the announcement ceremony of "Sustainable Enterprises in Vietnam" (CSI) 2023, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) was honored as one of the Top 100 sustainable enterprises in 2023.
The program is organized by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) under the direction of the Government. This is the 8th year the program has been organized, and also the 8th consecutive year that Vinamilk has been honored as one of the Top 100 sustainable enterprises.
With a long-term strategy for sustainable development, Vinamilk is one of the bright spots in applying circular economy, green energy, and renewable energy... in its production and business model in Vietnam. Therefore, the company was also honored in 2 categories: Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises operating in the manufacturing sector and Top 5 Pioneering Enterprises implementing circular economy and reducing carbon emissions.

At factories, Vinamilk invests in emission-reducing, environmentally friendly technologies, including operational management software to increase efficiency, optimize energy for machinery and equipment, use LGV robots to replace old forklifts to reduce emissions by up to 62%, or heat recovery systems to recover up to 92% of excess heat and reuse it to save electricity.
On farms, the application of circular economy is always put first with the goal of "turning waste into resources". Dozens of tons of waste from thousands of cows are processed through a modern biogas system, creating organic fertilizer, gas and irrigation water for use in other farm activities.

Vinamilk makes its mark in Emissions Management and Corporate Governance
With outstanding efforts in 2023, Vinamilk has excellently received 5 awards from the Listed Enterprise Awards. This is a prestigious award jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the Investment Newspaper and Dragon Capital Fund Management Company, with technical support from professional partners such as IFC, ACCA, leading auditing firms Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC.
Accordingly, Vinamilk won the Top 20 listed enterprises with the best annual reports on the Vietnamese stock market - Non-financial industry group; First prize for Sustainable Development Report; Top 10 Enterprises with the best corporate governance in the large-cap group - Second prize.

The "giant" of the dairy industry is also one of the few enterprises that always receives a consensus in the evaluation of the members of the Voting Council: the enterprise always meets the strict conditions on revenue and profit to be considered and scored quantitatively on 5 criteria: compound growth in revenue, profit, ROE, ROC and EPS growth. At the same time, it is qualitatively investigated to assess the sustainable development of the enterprise: the company's position in the industry, the source of profit, the quality of corporate governance, industry prospects... That is the reason why Vinamilk always maintains its position in the Top 20 non-financial enterprises with the best annual reports.
Regarding the Sustainable Development report, the Representative of the Voting Council shared: “Vinamilk's report this year continues to be a standard report, including all important indicators and areas; presented concisely and neatly with a moderate number of report pages”.
Right from the beginning of the report, the General Director's message showed a high commitment from Vinamilk's Board of Directors and the successful integration of sustainable development into the business strategy. This is reflected in the serious orientations and commitments to "bring net zero emissions by 2050".

Notably, Vinamilk is the only enterprise to receive the award for Enterprise with Good Management of Greenhouse Gas Emissions. This is also the second consecutive year Vinamilk has been awarded this special award. According to the representative of the Voting Council, a highlight of Vinamilk is the measurement and inventory of greenhouse gas emissions. This is one of the first enterprises in Vietnam to standardize the method of measuring and inventorying greenhouse gases according to ISO 14064 for production and livestock activities.
In mid-2023, Vinamilk was also confirmed as the first dairy company in Vietnam to have both factories and farms that are carbon neutral according to Pas 2060:2014 standards, with 2 units: Vinamilk Nghe An Dairy Factory and Vinamilk Nghe An Dairy Farm. The company also announced its roadmap towards Net Zero Emissions and the Vinamilk Pathways to Dairy Net Zero 2050 action program, demonstrating Vinamilk's commitment to environmental issues and climate change.

For the Corporate Governance Award Beyond Compliance, Vinamilk is one of the few two winners. Previously, at the 2023 Board of Directors Awards Ceremony organized by the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), this company also excelled in the Top 5 “Best Board of Directors”.
