Vietnam continues to promote tourism cooperation with China

Vietnam hopes that the two sides will continue to cooperate more closely and work together to promote the early recovery and healthy development of tourism between the two countries... Deputy Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang emphasized at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of March 9.

At a press conference, answering a reporter's question asking for comment on China's inclusion of Vietnam in the list of countries opening up for group tourism from March 15, Deputy Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said:

“Tourism cooperation is one of the important areas in cooperation and people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and China. Before the Covid-19 outbreak, China was the country with the largest number of visitors to Vietnam, while Vietnam was China's leading tourism partner in the region.

In recent times, Vietnam has maintained close exchanges with China on promoting tourism cooperation, including restoring group tourism. According to the latest information, the Chinese government plans to include Vietnam in the pilot list for opening group tourism from March 15.

Vietnam hopes that the two sides will continue to cooperate more closely, together promoting the early recovery and healthy development of tourism in the two countries, for the benefit of both sides and to meet the needs of the people of both countries."

*Regarding the information that Russia is preparing a draft intergovernmental agreement to simplify entry visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang stated: “In recent times, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia have actively met and discussed with the Russian side on the issue of simplifying entry procedures for Vietnamese citizens. Vietnam welcomes the Russian side to consider simplifying visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens and supports measures to facilitate Vietnamese citizens and other countries to trade, travel, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, contributing to promoting the development of friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.”
