This is the content shared by Ms. Pham Thi Bich Phuong - Sales Director of Sao Khue Food Joint Stock Company (SKFoods) at the National Halal Conference held on October 22 in Hanoi.

PV: Can you introduce Sao Khue Food Joint Stock Company and its current business activities?

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Phuong: Sao Khue Food Joint Stock Company (SKFoods) currently owns a large raw material area in Dong Thap, specializing in the production of dry products including vermicelli, noodles and rice products. In particular, our purple sweet potato products are currently exported to a number of international markets. The company is developing production and expanding distribution channels to diversify products.

What are SKFoods' reasons and expectations when participating in this National Halal Conference?

SKFoods is a Halal certified entity since 2023. We strongly expect that Vietnam's Halal products in general and SKFoods in particular will be accepted in the markets of Muslim countries in general and countries recognized as Halal certified in particular. Therefore, we attended the conference to seek opportunities for cooperation and market expansion.

According to you, what do Vietnamese businesses need to do to succeed when approaching the Halal market?

To access the Halal market, businesses need to focus on clean raw materials and ensure that products meet Halal standards. In addition, it is necessary to closely monitor policy developments and market conditions of each country to respond promptly. For SKFoods, we expect to export to the Indonesian and Malaysian markets in the near future.

So what is the biggest difficulty for businesses when approaching the Halal market?

In my opinion, the Government's support policy for businesses is still limited. There should be more seminars and trade promotion activities to introduce products and learn about the market, like the Malaysia International Halal Exhibition (MIHAS) that I attended. At the same time, there should be technical support mechanisms such as guidelines for Halal standard certification or organizations supporting Halal certification in Vietnam, so that businesses can access the Halal market more easily.

In addition, we also hope that the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have a mechanism to bring Halal businesses from abroad to Vietnam to access suppliers in our country, thereby we do not have to bring products internationally but can directly sell Halal products in Vietnam.

Thank you for sharing. Wish SKFoods success!
