The video art exhibition "Thang Duong Nhap That," held at the Nguy Nhu Kon Tum lecture hall of Hanoi National University, has brought a new breeze, breathing life into the masterpiece of Indochina fine arts. Inspired by the classic painting by Victor Tardieu, the work not only recreates the past but also leads viewers on a journey of profound discovery of history and culture. The combination of modern technology and classical art has turned the exhibition space into a magical intersection of time and emotion.

The original painting by Victor Tardieu, measuring a massive 11x7m, is an oil masterpiece completed in the early 20th century, once standing majestically at the Indochina University, now the lecture hall of Nguy Nhu Kon Tum. The work is considered a valuable historical document, recording a turbulent period in Vietnam. In each delicate line, Tardieu depicts the image of more than 200 characters with attention to every small detail such as costumes, customs, means of transport and architecture. The painting both deeply reflects the cultural exchange between East and West and is a vivid slice of Vietnamese society during a period of strong transformation. Thanks to the development of artificial intelligence, the painting is now reproduced more realistically and vividly than ever. From the original black and white photos, the team applied AI to learn the colors from the original oil painting, recreating the image with the highest accuracy. Video art and animation are skillfully combined, breathing life into each character and each scene, reviving a world that seemed to have been buried by time. Technology has turned a static painting into a living space, where each movement tells a story, each color evokes old memories.

However, as experts assert, technology cannot recreate everything perfectly on its own. The restoration process requires the cooperation of human intelligence, from providing accurate historical data to analyzing and selecting the most delicate details. According to Dr. Tran Hau Yen The, the painting does not only stop at the role of art, but also contains profound stories about society, people and culture in the early 20th century. Meticulous research on costumes, ranks, and historical context has helped artists reshape the painting in a realistic way while still preserving its inherent spiritual value. The exhibition "Thang Duong Nhap That" is an effort to revive the masterpiece of fine art, while opening the door to explore the cultural values hidden deep in history. The combination of art and technology creates a journey through time, taking viewers through layers of memories, each layer containing messages about knowledge, cultural exchange and creative spirit. The work becomes a bridge between the past and the present, helping today's generation to understand more deeply about their roots and appreciate more the values left by their ancestors.

"Thang Duong Nhap That" is not simply an art exhibition but also a profound reminder of the mission of preserving cultural heritage. Modern technology has contributed to bringing values that seemed to have faded back to the public, but it is the companionship of human knowledge and passion that is the decisive factor. The exhibition honors art and at the same time affirms that cultural heritage, despite many ups and downs, is still a bright torch illuminating the path of successive generations.
