The line: "Xuan, I am a woman. As a woman, please allow me to live according to my emotions. I will leave the rules and etiquette behind" by the character Bui Thi Xuan was performed with great emotion by Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh.

Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh confided that the role was at a mature age for her current age, so she could easily sympathize. When she became a wife and a mother, Bui Thi Xuan loved her soldiers with the love of a mother for her children. A guard was forced by a criminal to drink alcohol and burn precious books to warm himself in the bitter cold. According to the law, he should have been beheaded as an example, but she stopped Nguyen Hue and that debate made Bui Thi Xuan shed tears.
The debate between Nguyen Hue and Bui Thi Xuan about how to treat soldiers is considered emotional in the play "Love story of Thang Long".
"When I read the script, I immediately felt that it was a good performance. When I was on stage rehearsing with Kim Tu Long, Ms. Hong Van gave me more advice so that I could convey to the audience the most important messages of this role. How to make Bui Thi Xuan's appearance lively. Bui Thi Xuan's debate with Nguyen Hue aimed to find unity in how to command the army. As a female general, the role was filled with the emotions of a woman but still dignified, assertive and not succumbing to hardship" - Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh said.
Because of her in-depth character development and research into her transformation, her role received critical acclaim.

He read the lines of the father character, while my mother, the late artist Xuan Yen, played the role of the nanny, supporting me. That was an unforgettable memory with the role of Bui Thi Xuan that helped me win the Tran Huu Trang Gold Medal that year" - Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh recalled.
