Official operation of Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China)

After a period of pilot operation from September 15, 2023 to present, in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) held the official operation ceremony of Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China).

The official operation was carried out after talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chinese Premier Li Qiang on October 13, when the Chinese Premier visited Vietnam.

According to the authorities, after 1 year of implementation, the pilot operation of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) has been maintained, customs clearance procedures have been handled flexibly, scientifically, civilly and in accordance with regulations by immigration control forces, creating favorable conditions for tourists from both sides to travel to the Scenic Area. In addition, the management board of Cao Bang Non Nuoc Geopark said that during the pilot period, the Scenic Area has maintained a stable number of visitors with 950 groups, about 12,000 visitors entering and traveling between the two countries. When officially operating, the Scenic Area will receive a maximum of 1,000 visitors per day, 20 people per group. The cross-border tourism route is designed to include major attractions in both Vietnam and China.

The official operation of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) is an important event, marking the cooperation and tourism development relationship between Vietnam and China. Ban Gioc Waterfall is located in Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Southeast Asia, while Duc Thien is the waterfall area on the Chinese side.
