On the morning of January 15, the VAR referee training course, phase 3, opened at the meeting room of the Vietnam Football Federation. This course is taught by 4 Vietnamese lecturers including Mr. Dang Thanh Ha - Head of the VFF Referee Board; Vo Quang Vinh - Deputy Head of the VFF Referee Board, Mr. Vo Minh Tri, Mr. Pham Manh Long.
Currently, the referees and assistants have completed the training content of step 2 (practice on the simulation system in the LAB room with available situations).
During the time when domestic professional football tournaments are temporarily suspended for the national team to gather for the AFC Asian Cup 2023, the final important training step of the VAR Referee Training Course 2 is being implemented with practical training programs on the field.
Head of Referee Board Dang Thanh Ha talks with FIFA lecturer.
Accordingly, referees and technicians will undergo practical training steps on the VAR vehicle with increasing levels of difficulty and time, specifically: step 3a is training for 2 days with two teams competing on the field to practice short simulation situations of 10 minutes; step 3b is training for 3 days with two teams competing on the field to practice 30-minute simulation situations; step 3c is training for 2 days with two teams competing for a full 90 minutes.
In this training step, the coordination between the main referee, VAR referee and RO is carried out on the VAR vehicle under the supervision and guidance of FIFA instructors. In order for the referees to complete the course, the U15 and U17 young players from Hanoi Club and the CAND youth team will compete and practice real situations on the field as required by the instructors.
Students will undergo many rigorous testing steps. In addition to meeting the requirements of the instructors directly teaching, all practice videos of each student are also sent to FIFA for final overall evaluation and certification decisions.
VPF Company and the VFF Referee Board are gradually realizing the goal of being able to "cover" VAR in all matches in V.League 1. When the operational human resources are ready, completing the technical infrastructure to meet the goal will only be a matter of time.
The implementation of VAR Referee training courses not only helps Referees get acquainted with modern support technology, but more importantly, Referees continue to improve their skills and experience. In the future, VPF Company and VFF Referee Board will continue to implement more VAR referee training courses to ensure that the operating force meets professional requirements.
