Provincial People's Committee works with New Zealand Ambassador Delegation

On the afternoon of July 20, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh had a meeting and worked with Ms. Tredene Cherie Dobson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Vietnam and the delegation on the occasion of the delegation's visit and work in the province.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were also representatives of leaders of departments and branches of the province.

In recent times, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand has been developing well. The two countries have officially established cooperative relations in many fields, focusing on human resource development, education and training, and sustainable agricultural and rural development.

Currently, Dak Lak is implementing the Technical Assistance Project "Vietnam - New Zealand Dam Safety (Phase 3)" funded by the New Zealand Aid Program through Damwatch Engineering Company Limited and the Institute of Earth Sciences, approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2022. The project is implemented in the period of 2022 - 2027 to contribute to enhancing the resilience of communities downstream of dams in Dak Lak province based on expanding the application of dam safety assessment tools under climate change conditions.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh and leaders of relevant departments and branches introduced an overview of the socio-economic development situation in Dak Lak province as well as the potentials, advantages and areas in which the province is calling for investment, such as: developing high-tech agriculture; enhancing the application of scientific and technological advances in production, processing, post-harvest preservation and consumption of agricultural and forestry products; agricultural, forestry and fishery product processing industry; construction of agricultural and forestry product processing plants, animal feed processing, livestock processing; renewable energy; mechanical factories serving agriculture; construction of high-quality trade centers, supermarkets, hospitals, schools; support for priority access to ODA capital and preferential loans from foreign donors, etc.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh hopes that Ms. Tredene Cherie Dobson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Vietnam, will continue to be a solid bridge to further promote the strategic partnership between Vietnam and New Zealand.

At the same time, we hope to receive the attention and support of Ms. Tredene Cherie Dobson in introducing New Zealand businesses and investors to explore cooperation opportunities in Dak Lak province.

Ms. Tredene Cherie Dobson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand, thanked Dak Lak province for the warm welcome for the delegation. At the same time, she expressed her interest in cooperation in agricultural development; protection and sustainable development of the environment; investment environment, education, high-quality human resource training, improving English proficiency for officials as well as other areas.

The members of the delegation also hope that Dak Lak province will continue to create favorable conditions for New Zealand businesses to learn about the province's potential and strengths in order to cooperate and invest in development in the coming time.
