On November 16, the Town Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Quang Yen Town organized the second dialogue conference between the Town Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Yen Town with the people in 2024.
234 delegates, representatives of socio-political organizations, grassroots trade unions of enterprises and workers, representatives of religious organizations... in the town attended the conference.
At the conference, the town leaders gave delegates a general and comprehensive report on the town's context and situation in the first 10 months of 2024, with many opportunities and advantages intertwined with difficulties, challenges, unexpected problems and issues of public concern.
Specifically, storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused severe damage to both property and infrastructure throughout the town. The storm caused 126 houses to collapse, 29,710 houses to lose their roofs, many offices, schools, production and business establishments, aquaculture facilities to be damaged... with a total damage of over 2,300 billion VND. However, Quang Yen town has urgently overcome the consequences of the storm, quickly stabilized the people's situation, promoted the recovery of production and business, actively promoted economic growth and policies to support people and businesses; At the same time, implementing policies to support people and businesses to overcome the consequences of the storm such as: Approving funding to support the construction and repair of houses for 78 near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances, reviewing tuition support according to Resolution 42 of the Provincial People's Council, allocating capital to organizations and individuals severely affected by the storm, with a budget of over 1.3 billion VND.
In 10 months, the town's economic growth increased by 23.6%. Total state budget revenue in the area reached 1,161.7 billion VND, equal to 91.6% of the province's estimate . Investment attraction coordination continued to achieve positive results; industrial parks in the town had 19 new investment projects with registered capital of 945.93 million USD and 990.62 billion VND; in 10 months, 270/343 near-poor households were reduced. This is the result of great efforts of the Party Committee, government, business community and people of the town.
Happy and excited about the results achieved, in the spirit of democracy; representatives of the Fatherland Front, representatives of socio-political organizations, workers and people in the town spoke to propose and recommend a number of contents such as: The policy and unit price for compensation for land acquisition and clearance still have many shortcomings affecting people's lives; it is necessary to adjust the Cho Roc - Phong Hai intersection, so that people can travel safely; funding for the election of village and area chiefs for the 2025 - 2027 term; lighting, electric poles, telecommunication cables, some points - historical relics, trees... damaged after storm No. 3 need to be invested in and upgraded; investment resources for communes to become wards, as well as corresponding works when Quang Yen becomes a city; vocational training, human resource training; speeding up the progress of handing over sea surface to people for aquaculture; The preservation and restoration of historical relics, as well as attention to the development of Quang Ninh's rich cultural identity, were also mentioned by delegates at the conference....
In response to the dialogue opinions of the delegates, right at the conference, the Secretary of the Town Party Committee, the Chairman of the Town People's Committee... discussed, listened to, fully grasped the thoughts, aspirations, and difficulties from the grassroots and had specific answers. For issues under the authority and responsibility of the departments, offices, and functional branches, the comrades also requested the units to respond directly at the dialogue session.
The dialogue conference has an important meaning, contributing positively to helping the town leaders directly listen to and receive opinions, recommendations, proposals as well as the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Thereby, promptly resolving issues of concern to the people; at the same time, this is also an opportunity for the people to participate in contributing opinions, together with the authorities at all levels to remove difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level, creating consensus among the people, contributing to the successful implementation of the tasks of building a clean and strong Party and government; maintaining security, social order and safety and the goal of economic development, ensuring social security in the entire town.
