After a journey of nearly 16 hours with a stopover at Incheon International Airport (South Korea), the Vietnamese women's team arrived in Uzbekistan on the afternoon of October 24. Procedures had been prepared in advance for the team's entry to go smoothly.

With the support of the Uzbekistan Football Federation and local organizers, the Vietnamese women's team did not encounter any difficulties during the entry process. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team quickly moved to the Al Anvar hotel, 4km from the airport, to rest.

On the same afternoon, Coach Mai Duc Chung arranged for his players to do light exercise at the hotel to regain their strength after a long journey and adapt to the weather in the capital city of Tashkent.

Earlier in the morning, striker Huynh Nhu (Lank FC) also completed her journey from Portugal to Uzbekistan to join the Vietnamese women's team.

Huynh Nhu will have a day to get back in sync with her teammates before entering the first match against the home team Uzbekistan at Bunyodkor Stadium on October 26.

Tomorrow (October 25), coach Mai Duc Chung and player Huynh Nhu will attend a press conference before the match at 2:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. Vietnam time) also at Bunyodkor Stadium.

In the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics , the Vietnamese women's team is in Group C with Uzbekistan, India and Japan.

The top three teams in each group and the best second-placed team will advance to the third qualifying round, where they will compete for two tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Talking about the upcoming matches, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: "We may have just lost to Japan at the 19th Asiad, but the team will try to play better when they play again with this opponent in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics."

"Better does not mean winning. I hope the players show the same fighting spirit as they did at the 2023 Women's World Cup.

In this group, the team also meets India and Uzbekistan. They are two difficult opponents, but we affirm that we will try our best in each match," he added.
