Mr. Ca Van Phuong, Head of Co My village, Thanh Chan commune (Dien Bien district)

Taking people as the root in building new countryside

“The August Revolution and the lesson of taking people as the root” are being promoted in the movement to build new rural areas. That lesson has become even more important, contributing to helping the ethnic people of Co My village, Thanh Chan commune (Dien Bien district) achieve many achievements in building new rural areas.

Mr. Ca Van Phuong and women's union members of Co My village learn about production development information from books and newspapers and apply it to practice.

With the motto: "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people benefit", the Party Committee and government of Co My village always take the people as the root; promote propaganda, stay close to the people, learn and listen to the people's opinions and aspirations. From there, mobilize the maximum strength of the people as a lever in building the new rural area.

With the will to rise up and not accept poverty, the agricultural production of the village continues to develop steadily. Co My has focused on investing in developing key and advantageous crops and livestock. Promoting crop conversion, improving the productivity and quality of crops and livestock, developing vegetables, rotating crops with rice to improve efficiency on the same area. In particular, from the movement of good production and business with the spirit of dynamism, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, the ethnic people of Co My village have built many high-income production and livestock models, contributing to building the new rural area (currently the whole village has only 6/154 poor households).

Consistent with the motto "From household to village", taking households as the core to mobilize for building new rural areas, people in the village have actively contributed ideas, labor, and land to build welfare works (cultural houses, roads, etc.). To create a green - clean - beautiful village scene, people actively clean up, build barns away from houses, preserve the common environment, repair houses, gates, fences to brighten the village, brighten the village...

Captain Do Xuan Diem, Deputy Political Commissar, Na Co Sa Border Guard Station

Firmly protect the Fatherland's borders

Stationed in the border commune (Na Co Sa commune, Nam Po district), Na Co Sa Border Guard Station is assigned to manage the 17.369km long border. Promoting the historical tradition of the August Revolution, to firmly protect every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland and maintain peace at the border, in my position as Deputy Political Commissar, Secretary of the Youth Union, I, together with the Party Committee, Party cell and the Station Command, led the unit to successfully carry out the political mission.

Captain Do Xuan Diem and his teammates always stay close to the area and the people.

With the spirit of "The station is home, the border is the homeland, the people of all ethnic groups are blood brothers", continuing the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", each of us, officers and soldiers, does not hesitate to endure hardships, stay at the village and the border, and excellently complete the task of ensuring political security and firmly protecting every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland.

To help people develop the economy and reduce poverty, the Party Committee and the Command Board of the Station have actively advised the Party Committee and local authorities to focus on leading and promoting economic development in the direction of shifting the agricultural production structure; using high-yield and high-quality rice and upland rice varieties; introducing new crops (cardamom, grapefruit, orange, jackfruit, plum) into production to maximize the potential and advantages of the locality. At the same time, sending working groups to the grassroots, actively guiding people to build many economic models; reclaiming land, intensively increasing crops, irrigation, applying science and technology to production, developing farms, forest garden economy...

The unit also cooperates with many organizations, with kind hearts to support, examine and provide free medicine to people (mobilizing support, giving 400 warm blankets to students; implementing the "Border Guard scissors" model to cut hair for free for 350 people and students...). The most meaningful reward for me is that the peace of the area is maintained; the lives of local people are improved; people trust and unite with the border guards to firmly protect the sovereignty and national borders...

Member Lo Van Phong, Phai Muong village, Muong Khong commune (Tuan Giao district)

Contribute youth to build homeland

“Like many other young people, I learned about the August Revolution in 1945 through films, history lessons, and stories told by my ancestors. I understand that the August Revolution is one of the most glorious and brilliant pages of history, a bright spot in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. To achieve that result, the previous generation had to shed so much sweat, tears, and blood. Therefore, with the responsibility of youth, I vow to strive to continue the revolutionary tradition to build my homeland and country to become increasingly rich and developed.

Mr. Lo Van Phong takes care of the cows.

I was born and raised in a mountainous area with vast land. In 2010, I boldly borrowed 20 million VND from the bank, plus my savings to build a barn and buy 4 breeding cows to raise. At that time, I did not have much knowledge or experience, and the cost of breeding was high; the beginning was very difficult. In order for the herd to grow and develop well, I read more books on techniques, participated in technical training courses on animal husbandry, and applied them to my family's herd. Through the process of diligently learning and accumulating experience, the livestock grew healthily and had good quality. At its peak, the total herd reached more than 70 cows, bringing in an income of 100 - 200 million VND/year. I also traveled to Lao Cai province to learn and buy cinnamon seedlings to plant on an area of more than 2 hectares. Currently, the cinnamon trees are growing and developing well, promising to bring in a high income in the coming years.

From my success in establishing myself and my career, I actively share my experiences and support people, especially the youth union members and youth, to develop the economy from the cow breeding model; and mobilize everyone to participate. I hope that the success of the model will not only support people, youth union members and youth to create stable livelihoods but also spread the spirit of creative entrepreneurship among young people, thereby contributing a part of my efforts to build and develop my homeland. That is also a way for me and other young people to continue and multiply the value of the August Revolution.”

Giang Nguyen Thu Ha, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Department of Planning and Investment

Dedication and responsibility to the community

As a generation of Vietnamese youth born and raised in peace, I am always deeply aware of the great significance of the August Revolution. Therefore, I am determined to strive and take responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Ms. Giang Nguyen Thu Ha and Youth Union members of the Department of Planning and Investment presented computers to students of Na Hy commune (Nam Po district).

As Secretary of the Youth Union, I have always strived to be a pioneer, ready to contribute my youth and intelligence to the cause of innovation, building the homeland and country to become more and more prosperous. In particular, together with the Youth Union of my agency, I actively mobilized and coordinated with organizations to donate computers and many gifts to students in difficult circumstances in Nam Po district.

Imbued with the tradition and morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, the Youth Union and I have organized many practical activities, visited “red addresses”; contributed with the government to take care of the material and spiritual life of families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Thereby, contributing to spreading the spirit and strength of the August Revolution of the past, adding motivation for the young generation to build the country to be more and more prosperous, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, as beloved Uncle Ho always wished.
