According to the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, taking advantage of the increased demand for travel , especially during the April 30th - May 1st holiday and the upcoming summer vacation, many malicious individuals have intensified their fraudulent activities to steal people's property through various means.
Specifically, these individuals impersonate websites and fan pages of ticket offices and hotels, even using verified Facebook accounts to build trust and promote cheap travel services with attractive promotions. Once they gain trust, they request a deposit of 30% to 50% of the service value when customers contact them. They then request personal information to "complete the application," but in reality, they intend to steal the money.

Some signs to identify these types of scams include: Scammers often advertise unusually cheap travel services, using slogans like "today only offer," "book now," etc.; using Fanpages with names that easily confuse brands, with blue verification ticks but not clearly verified; vague contact information, only private messaging via Messenger/Zalo, without a specific company address; no clear contract or terms, only requiring "quick money transfer to reserve a spot."
According to the police, to avoid being exploited and scammed by unscrupulous individuals, people need to be highly vigilant. Do not transfer deposit money without verifying the origin of the fanpage/website. Prioritize booking tickets/tours/rooms through reputable applications or companies with clear addresses. Carefully check legal information, user reviews, and contact through official hotlines. If you suspect you have been scammed, report it immediately to the nearest police station for timely assistance.
According to information from the Hue City Department of Tourism, it is expected that during the April 30th - May 1st holiday this year, Hue City will welcome approximately 150,000 visitors, with estimated revenue of around 300 billion VND. To meet the sightseeing and relaxation needs of locals and tourists, the Hue tourism industry has proactively coordinated with relevant agencies to implement a comprehensive range of solutions to ensure security and order, environmental hygiene, food safety, price control, and the organization of entertainment activities.
On this occasion, Hue's tourism industry also publicly launched and operated a hotline, 0234.3828288, to receive and promptly handle feedback and suggestions, thereby building trust among locals and tourists.
