At the Faculty of Business, Vietnam-USA College, Hanoi, stories of "real learning - real work" are happening every day.
Dinh Hung Bien - a student majoring in Digital Marketing at Vietnam-USA College in Hanoi - and his team members have successfully defeated 3 competitors to win the bid for the 2025 summer communication project of Ciem Beauty & Spa. Their ideas were highly appreciated by the company and selected for practical implementation.
Blurring the lines between business and classroom
"We do not train students to get high scores or just to get a degree. Our goal is to train people who can work right after graduation," Ms. Bui Thanh Van - Manager of the Faculty of Business shared.
The faculty has pioneered the "real learning - real work" model with 70-80% of the time devoted to practice and real projects. Students participate in projects with businesses, from building marketing strategies, operating online shops to project management.
Right from the first lesson of Integrated Marketing Communications, students have worked directly with representatives of partner businesses. Not simply guests, they bring practical marketing briefs and challenging business problems. 150 students are divided into 20 groups, each group operates like a professional agency with clear positions: Account Manager, Strategic Planner, Content Creator, Media Planner...
During the 10 weeks, the groups diligently researched the market, developed a creative brief, described, built strategies and presented solutions to a business council. Many of the students' bold and creative ideas surprised businesses and they were ready to apply them immediately.
"We are really impressed with the professionalism of the students at Viet My Hanoi. Many of the ideas and strategies you propose are not inferior to those of professional agencies in the market. As representatives of the business side, we highly appreciate this form of learning at Viet My Hanoi College and look forward to welcoming generations of young, talented and professional employees," Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh - Deputy Head of Marketing Department, Hyundai Thanh Cong Company shared after a final student evaluation session.
Like Ms. Thuy Linh, the partner businesses expressed surprise at the quality of the students’ plans. Many ideas were considered so creative and feasible that the businesses wanted to implement them immediately.
Business Accompaniment
Currently, Vietnam-USA College Hanoi is closely cooperating with more than 100 enterprises in many diverse fields such as e-commerce, marketing agency, production and services such as: Sun World Group, LG Vietnam, LadiPage, Dat Xanh Mien Bac, Pan Pacific Hanoi, Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake... Not only stopping at the role of internship partners, enterprises also participate deeply in the training process by providing practical case studies, directly guiding students as mentors and taking on the role of judges in academic competitions.
This business network not only provides internship opportunities during the study process but also opens the door for students to apply for official employee positions immediately after graduation. Thanks to the practical training model, 90% of students of Vietnam-USA College Hanoi have found jobs immediately after graduation with attractive starting salaries of 8-10 million VND/month.
Recently, more than 60 students of the Faculty of Hotel Management of the Vietnam-USA College in Hanoi have also received International Hotel Professional Certificates granted by Pan Pacific, Sheraton Hanoi West and Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake hotels after their internship at the enterprise. This certificate is a great advantage for students if they want to apply to 5-star hotel systems and large resorts in Vietnam and other countries.
"The close connection between schools and businesses has created a comprehensive training ecosystem, helping students quickly get acquainted with and solve practical challenges of the profession right from their school days," Ms. Thanh Van added.
