My first store was born in 2015 with the name Cheap Phones, because at that time I focused on accessible low-cost phones.
According to Tran Thinh: "In 2009, when I was a high school student, I was fascinated by mobile phones. Every day after school, I stopped by the stores near my house, not buying anything but always enjoying looking, learning and talking about technology.
One time, the shop owner jokingly asked: "Why don't you try this job?" That sentence planted in me the idea of a phone business. From the times of buying and selling used phones, I gradually learned how to choose products, advise customers and understand market needs. When I had the opportunity, I decided to pursue this path seriously. Not only for profit, but because I wanted to bring the experience that I had always wanted when standing in front of the glass counter years ago."
When starting to build the brand, Tran Thinh encountered many difficulties. First was determining the right direction and building trust with customers. The phone market is very competitive, with many big competitors, and creating a difference is not easy. In addition, limited capital made me have to consider carefully every step of development, from choosing products, partners to marketing strategies.
However, I always focused on the core values of the brand: product quality, dedicated customer service and transparency. Gradually, through perseverance and commitment to customers, I overcame the initial difficulties and built a trustworthy brand.
My first store was born in 2015 with the name Cheap Phones, because at that time I focused on affordable and accessible phone lines. The turning point to change the name to Bong Store as it is now was in 2021 when my first daughter was born and her nickname at home is "Bong".
According to the young owner of Bong Store: "The phone market in Vietnam is currently very vibrant and fiercely competitive. Consumers are increasingly wiser, paying more attention to price, product quality as well as after-sales service. Transparency is also gradually improving, but there are still situations of "Fake quotes", "Fake warranties", "Hang a goat's head", "Selling dog meat", selling locked phones to customers but at international prices... Attracting customers with all kinds of tricks. In addition, consumer trends have also changed. In the past, many people liked to follow new technology, but now, they tend to choose durable products, good performance and more value instead of just paying attention to design. This forces retailers and brands to constantly improve service quality to meet market demand".
Thus, to be successful in the genuine phone business, it is necessary to focus on three core factors: reputation, service quality and market understanding.
First of all, we must be transparent about the origin of the product, ensuring that customers always receive the goods as advertised. The warranty policy is clear and not ambiguous. Second, after-sales service is very important, not only selling but also providing dedicated advice and good technical support to create long-term trust. Finally, the technology market is constantly changing, so we must always update trends, understand customer needs to offer suitable products and policies. If we can do these things, we will not only be successful but also be able to develop sustainably in the industry.
