On April 11, the Ha Long Bay Management Board said it had sent a dispatch to service and travel businesses to inform them of the temporary suspension of receiving visitors to the Cua Van Floating Cultural Center from April 25.

The reason is to focus on maintenance and repair of this facility. Only activities to visit Cua Van fishing village and experience tourism services such as rowing boats, kayaking, etc. are still deployed to serve tourists.

Cua Van Floating Cultural Center is part of the No. 3 tourist route on Ha Long Bay, opened to visitors since 2006. This is a place to display and introduce documents, artifacts, and images of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Ha Long fishermen past and present.

This is also the first floating cultural center model in Vietnam for the fishing community, chosen to be built in the former Cua Van fishing village area on Ha Long Bay - which was once listed in the top 16 most beautiful ancient villages in the world by the travel site "Journeyetc.com".

After many years of exploitation, this center has now degraded and needs maintenance and repair. The time to welcome guests back will be announced by the Ha Long Bay Management Board to units, businesses and tourists when completed.
