Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Xuan Vinh; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee Tran Thi Kim Hoa.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Trinh Minh Duc - Director of the Department of Home Affairs said that Quang Nam is a land with a long history, rich in patriotic traditions and imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity. Over the past 550 years of formation and development, from the initial names and administrative units such as phu, dinh, and tran, to officially becoming a province in 1832 under the reign of King Minh Mang, Quang Nam has constantly changed, developed and is always a land of important strategic position.
Notably, Quang Nam is a land of steadfastness in the cause of fighting and defending the Fatherland, with heroic and resilient Quang Nam children such as comrade Vo Chi Cong, Hero Nguyen Van Troi, American-killing hero Ho Thi Thu, Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu and many other outstanding children becoming shining examples for the younger generation to follow.
The exhibition “Quang Nam historical imprints through archival documents on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Quang Nam Province Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025)” consists of 3 parts. Part 1 includes historical milestones in the formation of Quang Nam Province; Part 2 is the history of the revolutionary struggle of the people of Quang Nam Province; Part 3 is the period of Quang Nam's construction and development (from 1975 to present).
“With more than 150 valuable documents and images selected for introduction, including the Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks - World Documentary Heritage, it is expected to help viewers have a clear view of the history of formation and development of Quang Nam through the ages. Documents and images are collected from national archives, libraries, museums, press agencies and researchers and collectors in and outside the province,” Mr. Duc informed.
According to Mr. Duc, the exhibition is an opportunity for the younger generation to better understand the great sacrifices of their ancestors, thereby fostering national pride and a sense of responsibility in the work of building and developing the homeland to become increasingly rich and civilized. At the same time, it affirms the important role of archival work in preserving historical memories, serving the cause of sustainable development of the province.
At the event, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and provincial leaders cut the ribbon to open the exhibition and visited the space displaying historical documents.
The exhibition takes place from March 19 - 24, 2025.
