This year's Call of Duty game is said to be led by Sledgehammer and overseen by Infinity Ward. Bloomberg reported that Activision's goal for the new game is to create a title that "feels like a standalone, full-priced release and is also an extension of Modern Warfare II ."
According to Activision, 2022's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the fastest-selling product in the history of the famous shooter franchise, with revenue reaching $800 million in just the first three days of launch, then this number surpassed the $1 billion mark after 10 days of release.
The game surpassed the record previously held by 2012's Black Ops 2 , which took the former game 15 days to reach $1 billion in revenue.
